The perhaps semi-hackneyed and overused Realtor-speak “curb appeal” jargon seems woefully insufficient to describe this lovely Park Hill perch at 2420 Lofton Terrace.

Take the modest square footage. The house appears larger and indeed grander. A small wood-paneled entry leads to an open space that runs the length of the 1948-built house. The striking floors are somewhat out of the ordinary — coffee-stained birds-eye maple — adding a warm refinement to the ambiance. The monotone wallpaper mural is a document depicting 1828 Charleston Harbor.
The semi-open floor plan offers an easy relaxed circulation from room to room free of hallways. The renovated chef’s kitchen is a dream, with updates from top to bottom. You get a commercial gas range, stainless appliances, a built-in microwave, a refrigerator, and a large walk-in pantry.

The principal bedroom has French windows leading to the upstairs balcony. The attached bath has twin sinks, a bath, and a large shower stall. Rectangular marble and ceramic tiles are mounted vertically, which gives the bath an interesting twist.

There is a small pool and dining pergola in the back garden. Also at back is a separate guest house with a 13-by-10 bedroom and another bath and closet not included in the square feet. Garage parking at back houses two spots.
