For those of you new to Texas, let me introduce you to North Texas Giving Day, which is Sept. 23, 2021. The Communities Foundation of Texas sponsors this 18-hour online event every year to support local non-profit organizations in 20 counties of North Texas on one user-friendly platform.

North Texas Giving Day was created in 2009 as an easy way to offer everyone the opportunity to give back to their favorite causes. Since its inception, over $375 million has been raised for local non-profits. Last year this event raised $58.8 million. So essentially, the North Texas Giving Day provides for one-stop giving!

Take a moment to consider your favorite historic preservation organizations when you decide where your giving will go this year. Here are a few highlights, but be sure to go to the North Texas Giving Day site for more options.

The Aldredge House is also a premier spot for the public and other non-profits to use for educational programming and community use. The home is preserved and operated by The Dallas County Medical Society Alliance Foundation and is one of the gems of our city.

Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park

Dallas Historical Society

With over three million items in their collection of archives and artifacts, The Dallas Historical Society offers us a preeminent resource to understand and appreciate our diverse history and educate and inspire future generations. It serves more than 20,000 students annually.
