It’s Rangers Game 6 versus the Houston Astros tonight in the league championship series and we’re biting nails. But we need a more productive way to channel this nervous energy. Well, we at daltxrealestate.com love our celebrity real estate, so how about a look at the homes owned by your Texas Rangers?
We’ll start with a retired Rangers second baseman who recently rejoined the club’s front office.
Ian Kinsler
When Ian Kinsler was traded to the Detroit Tigers in 2013, we wondered if he’d be selling his Greenbrier Drive home in University Park. We even scouted a few places for him in the ritzy parts of Detroit metro.
Thankfully, the long-time Dallasite and his lovely family stayed put in his 7,777-square-foot home with five bedrooms and eight baths. The retired player is back in Texas Rangers fans’ hearts (not that he ever left) as he has joined the Rangers’ front office in February 2023 as special assistant to the General Manager Chris Young.
Kinsler’s home, shown here from a 2008 listing for $3.99 million, looks pretty different outside and I’m sure inside as well.
In fact, you can see the listing‘s dark dramatics of aughts interior design below and archived on Realtor.com. From the MLS description:
Fabulous French Estate style hm on 70 x 160 lot just a stone’s throw from Caruth Park. Dan Hutts builder with Ashley Astleford designer have made a masterpiece with 5 BR, 7 bath, fmls, den, wet bar w-wine storage, sitting area w-fp, brkfst rm, outdoor liv area, mud room, playroom, study and office in kit all exquisitely finished & appointed as only Dan Hutts can do. Mark Teixeira
Texas Rangers retired first baseman Mark Teixeira loves himself some Dallas-Fort Worth real estate. Back in 2010, our sister site SecondShelters.com reported that “Tex” maintains a second home getaway at 2220 King Fisher Drive in Vaquero, about 25 minutes outside Dallas. (Probably more like 45 minutes. It’s been more than a decade in Dallas traffic.)
A couple of years later, Teixeira leased the 8,554-square-foot home to none other than then-New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton. And you’ve got the see this place.
From the listing:
Exquisite property sits on a one-acre waterfront lot in the prestigious golf community of Vaquero. From an ideal floor plan to an extensive amount of outdoor space. The master suite wing features a private spa patio and fire pit overlooking the golf course. The upper area houses three secondary bedrooms and large game room. A Separate casita is perfect for guests! The Large covered patio with electric screens is ideal for entertaining.”
