Shaquille O’Neal Sells Carrollton Mansion, Moves to New Home in Heath, Texas

One of the all-time legends of the NBA, Shaquille O’Neal put his 5,269-square-foot mansion in Carrollton on the market at nearly $1.7 million a couple of months ago, moving into it just two years ago. Now, this is a part of his move to North Texas, as he moves to a new residence located in Heath.

O’Neal’s Carrollton mansion features five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, with ultra-luxurious amenities. There is a formal dining room, media room, paneled office with built-ins, and saltwater pool complete with spa and waterfall. High ceilings line the interior, along with multiple fireplaces and a three-car garage—just a few of the features of this beauty that sits within the desirable Gates of Prestonwood neighborhood.

The decision to sell comes after O’Neal’s recent purchase of a 4,670-square-foot home in Heath through the Chexy Trust, which handled several of his real estate transactions. The new house—about 40 minutes from his Carrollton property—has six bedrooms and six bathrooms and features a saltwater pool with a waterfall along with a sprawling guest house that measures 500 feet.

O’Neal’s relocation explains the increase in his sightings around Rockwall County, as opposed to his usual appearances in Carrollton. Social media posts document stops at area hotspots like Raising Cane’s, Walmart, and Home Depot that_cmds fans who run into the larger-than-life star.

Though O’Neal called Dallas his “midway point” for West Coast business, his Carrollton home was a part-time residence. With his expansion of Big Chicken restaurant chain recently, his presence has been god-sent. O’Neal professed his love for Dallas because people were so friendly and scenic drives beautiful.

As O’Neal settles into his new Heath home, his future plans remain open. But he’ll no doubt hang around North Texas for at least a while as his new Big Chicken location in Fort Worth gets ready to open. A specific opening date has yet to be announced, though job applications for the restaurant started going up online this spring, which typically indicates an opening is not too far away.
