LEED-Allen

Happy Earth Day, daltxrealestate.com readers!

What a wonderful day to celebrate everything easy on the Earth, things that go in the ground, and all of the fabulous homes that help to reduce your ecological footprint using energy-efficient design and finishes. Today we want to show off the great variety of homes you can find on the market today in a multitude of neighborhoods that are all LEED Certified. Whether in the Dallas Arts District, Midway Hollow, Fort Worth, or Allen — green homes are everywhere today and come in so many different styles. From chateaus to condos, there’s something for everyone who wants to tread lightly on the Earth!

Jump to see our list of the top 5 LEED Certified homes in North Texas!

Museum-Tower-LEED
Unit 503 inside Museum Tower is green living gone gorgeous.

1) Unit 503 at Museum Tower

This beautiful three-bedroom condo inside Museum Tower is not only LEED Gold certified, but it’s also in one of Dallas’ most walkable areas, the Dallas Arts District, so you can drive fewer miles and enjoy the amenities your amazing home provides in one of the most scenic areas of downtown Dallas. And those views! Can you imagine waking up every day and getting an eyeful of this?

LEED-Fort-Worth
This sun-soaked Mediterranean-style estate in Fort Worth’s Montserrat is luxury living that is lighter on the earth.

2) 4705 Santa Cova

Yes, a huge 8,133-square-foot estate in sunny Fort Worth can be green, too! In fact, this five-bedroom, five-full-and-three-half-bath estate on more than two acres is actually LEED Certified, so while it is large it will sip electricity instead of guzzle it. Incredibly efficient appliances plus high-end materials and finish-out mean that you can have luxurious surroundings and be earth-friendly, too.

LEED-Midway-Manor
This new build in Dallas’ Midway Manor from David Weekley Homes has eco-friendly amenities.

3) 8430 Ridgelea

This brick-and-stone traditional is a new build from David Weekley Homes in Dallas’ Midway Manor. This is a great concept — taking homes on close-in lots and replacing the older housing stock with new, eco-friendly housing that doesn’t sacrifice style or amenities. The setback is good, too. I’m heartened to see a builder as prolific as this one working south of LBJ and building LEED Platinum homes like this one!

LEED-Midway-Hollow
And here’s another custom, classic home from David Weekley that is big, but carries plenty of eco-friendly chops.

4) 4023 Beechwood

And here’s another LEED Platinum design from David Weekley Homes, this time in Midway Hollow. It also carries a HERS 0-85 rating, which means Home Energy Rating System with a score that means it is performing at least 15 percent better than a typical home. Of course, the neighborhood is fantastic, as it is close to shopping, schools, and other amenities, so you won’t spend as much time in your car.

This stylish model home in Allen's Hamilton Hills is on the market, and is easy on the earth and the eyes.

5) 1315 Lincoln Court

Isn’t it beautiful? This lovely stone-clad home in Allen’s Hamilton Hills is a model that just hit the market and features upgrades that will get it LEED Gold certification. Of course, it is eye-catching, with stellar interiors with transitional style and low- or no- VOC designer paint throughout. Of course, it’s close to Allen’s Watters Creek, so you’ll love being near great shopping and fabulous schools.

Did you fall in love with one of these green homes? Are you surprised by the eco-friendly options available today? Tell us in the comments!
