Splurge vs Steal: Two Northwood Hills Homes with Spacious Floorplans

Just past LBJ Freeway in the heart of North Dallas, Northwood Hills is a higher-end neighborhood with a genuine friendliness and established feel that welcomes newcomers and visitors alike. There’s a lot of recommend the area. In addition to larger lots and proximity to highways, they are zoned for Richardson ISD, a selling point for many families. 

Currently, houses on the market in Northwood Hills range from $500,000 to $850,000. In this week’s Splurge vs Steal, we’re looking at two properties on both ends of that range. Which one is your favorite?

The house at 6838 Meadowcreek Dr. has an appealing circle drive, swimming pool, floorplan, and updates that will make it a hit with homebuyers. It has four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, one half bath, three living areas, two dining areas, and 4,638 square feet on one story, built in 1962 and sitting on 0.51 acres.

There’s a front circular driveway with extra parking in the back plus a rear-entry two-car garage, as well as a spot for RV. Inside, you’ll find hardwood floors, new windows, and new carpet in the bedrooms, as well as new plumbing. The living room features a vaulted, beamed ceiling with a fan, skylights, stone fireplace, and wet bar. The eat-in kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, recessed lights, and a gas cooktop and double oven. The oversized backyard has a patio and plenty of space for a pool, should the new owners want one. 

This Northwood Hills ranch was listed Feb. 8 by Richard Scott with Keller Williams, North Dallas for $579K, reduced to $549,000.
