Don’t Miss This Cedar Oaks Midcentury With an Artist’s Touch

Set in Club Oaks in Oak Cliff, there’s an artist’s home that’s truly special. It’s a classic midcentury that’s been updated — and that’s just the beginning.

Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate’s DeCarla Anderson said she’s worked with these clients for years and always loves their homes. One is in the Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Fort Worth. She’s an 11-time rodeo champion. The other is a painter. Both have studios in this home — in the garage conversion and an insulated, air-conditioned shed out back.

There’s a fabulous garage conversion and was turned into two rooms including a generous full-size utility room with shelving that runs all along the top. Anderson said this home has lots of storage and this is one of the best garage conversions she’s seen. It had already been converted when her clients moved in, but they finished it out. The floors are painted concrete and how fun is that pattern? The back door has also been painted to perfection and serves as a work of art out back.

One more thing about the garage conversion, Anderson said it can continue to be an artist studio, could be transformed into a fourth bedroom, or, since there is water that runs to the garage, you could add a full bathroom and kitchenette and make it your very brilliantly colored guest quarters.

It’s a large lot with a circle drive and plenty of parking and inside the home is fantastically cozy with a soothing Santa Fe color scheme.

The updated kitchen has an adjoining dining room, and it opens to the living area. Both bathrooms are modern and neutral with granite countertops. The rooms are nicely sized and most of all, this is a fun house with a warm and cozy atmosphere.

On Daltxrealestate.com, we always talk about how great it is to get a builder’s home or an architect’s personal home, but I’ll add the artist’s home to the list. There’s just something special about a creative space. It’s always filled with good, welcoming vibes and has a free spirit feel where you can do something a little offbeat and make it work.

Anderson has the three-bedroom, two-bathroom ranch at 1915 Myrtlewood Drive listed for $325,000.
