Ebby Halliday Companies Agents Capitalize on a Crazy Q1 2021

There’s nothing like a little good news to help keep morale up for the troops. Chris Kelly, Commander in Chief of the Ebby Halliday Companies, was quick to call a virtual pep rally once 1st Quarter results became available. He seized the opportunity to encourage the agents of Ebby Halliday Realtors, Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate and Williams Trew, many of whom have been in the trenches without much of a break since the start of the year. Actually, make that summer of last year, once the lockdown was over – this is North Texas after all, a magnet for business relocations and former Californians seeking tax relief.

Together all three brands achieved $1.9 billion in total sales in the first three months of the year, he announced, vs. $1.36 billion for Q1 2020. This time last year, the market was just starting to grind to a halt, making Q1’s numbers the only possible apples-to-apples comparison we will get between 2020 and 2021.

Kelly relayed how Ebby Halliday Companies’ performance compared against other NTREIS members over this time last year, and there were double-digit increases across the board in:

  • Units Sold (↑ 20%)
  • Sales Volume (↑ 30%)
  • Average Sales Price (↑ 14%)
  • Pending Units (↑ 15%)

Based on the results of a just-released NAR survey of home buyers and sellers, Kelly reminded agents, “Take heart that consumers are seeing the value in what you are doing every single day when you work with them, so don’t shy away from reminding them what you bring to the table and why you earn what you earn.

“Yes, there’s always someone in every industry who can do it cheaper. They might be willing to throw away their value, but that doesn’t mean we have to. Their level of service is not the same as your level of service.”

Steven Reich and Jennifer Holland with Williams Trew represented the seller and the buyer respectively, of this $6.5 million first-class horse ranch in Weatherford.

How the rest of the year plays out remains to be seen but in this seller’s market, it would appear Kelly & Company are once again capitalizing on the crazy that is 2020/2021.
