Tragedy of tragedies, this one is already gone, but is it good or what? It’s out in Highland Village, just off Interstate 35 by Lake Lewisville and a stone-skip away from Flower Mound.

It’s an interesting area filled with #LakeLifers. Interesting in the way that it’s a suburb, but there’s the lake so it’s a little special. It’s hilly and heavily treed and has all the Paneras you can handle.

I mean, Highland Village is a suburb. Houses out there, like everywhere really, come in every price point up to the multimillions. Those would be the lakefront properties.

Then there’s this one that’s under $500,000 and amazing. I mean where the heck do I even start? The balcony on stilts or the wall of windows that leads into an incredible vaulted ceiling lined with some big ol’ planks of wood?

It’s been updated all around with a crisp, white kitchen that’s totally on-trend. Then there are surprises in other rooms of the house. Like the primary bathroom with the massive shower with a sink in it. It seems a bit much at first, but then you realize it works because 1) basically your entire bathroom just became a giant washroom, and 2) you’re by the lake so chances are you’ll need to rinse things. And some might be oversized.

Another little detail I love? Those dang Kelly Green cabinets in the secondary bathroom. They make an otherwise traditional bathroom feel a little more fun and eclectic.

In one bedroom there’s a set of bifold doors that lead into a closet. Here’s a small thing, but they painted the doors and trim the same color as the wall, so it blends. Kind of a cool little design hack. I’m a big fan of the same color wall, baseboards, and trim. I think it makes a room feel bigger and less choppy. That’s just a free tip from me to you. Try it and comment below. I’m kidding, but I’m going to keep saying that because Sue Tarantino always takes me up on it.

We haven’t even made it outside on this one, but rest assured there’s a hot tub and a fire pit on the premises.

Like I said, 344 Scenic Drive is already gone, but eXp Realty’s Beth Caudill has it listed for $425,000.
