Fort Worth Friday: The Perfect Lake Worth Getaway For Your Fourth of July Celebration

935-1

I really cannot imagine a more perfect spot to enjoy this Fourth of July than right here on Lake Worth. This property is 3.2 acres right on the banks of one of Fort Worth’s best kept secrets, and is only 15 minutes from downtown.

Known by locals as “Camp T.,” this property is a great spot for getting together with the family for a few days, playing some dominoes, getting out on the boat, doing some fishing, and filling the evenings with sparklers, adult beverages, and some barbecue. If you’re expecting this to be your standard lake house, complete with less than luxurious appointments and a claustrophobic kitchen, you’re in for quite a surprise!

Located a 9420 Heron Dr. at the southern tip of Lake Worth, this estate is a tremendous example of the perfect in-town lake retreat. It feels miles away from anything thanks to the lush canopy of mature trees and easy access to Lake Worth, but the finishes and construction is so perfectly high-end.

There are three houses and three parcels of prime lake-front property included in this sale according to Joan Trew, who is marketing this property off of MLS for $1.79 million. There is more than 500 feet of lake frontage and a huge lawn, covered parking for eight vehicles and enough room to park 50 cars. Planning to have a few overnight guests? Trew says the main house has three bedrooms and bathrooms and clocks in at 2,375 square feet. Next door at 9432 Heron is an additional home with 2,200 square feet, three bedrooms, and two full plus one half bath. There’s also a 1,100-square-foot log cabin-style bunk house on the property with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Let’s not forget the pool house with a half bath. The property could host your family reunion in comfortable fashion as long as your last name isn’t Duggar.

“Across the street is 9433 Heron Dr, originally known as the ‘beer garden’ to long-time residents of Fort Worth,” Trew adds. Now that sounds absolutely perfect.

All of the bedrooms and bathrooms sport cute, shabby chic decor with tons of linen, whitewash, ironwork, and eclectic accessories. The interiors look straight out of a catalog, in my opinion, which is great for a spot that you only plan on mussing for a few weeks out of the year. Of course, it should go without saying that if you plan on furnishing this home yourself, invest in a healthy amount of Scotchgard.

I love the bathrooms, which sport plenty of marble. The master bath in the main house has a gorgeous free-standing tub, which will be just the thing for those impromptu getaways.

And in a home like this, you know you’re going to be spending plenty of time outside. Naturally, this property has tons of niches, decks, and rec rooms for you to share a few hands of chicken foot, a few games of corn hole, and even play some 9-ball on the pool table.

If the lake is a bit too busy, you’ll love the fabulous pool, which sports both a slide and a diving board for your epic cannonball contests. So call your agent, round up the family, and plan your in-town escape to this Fort Worth Friday’s lake house.
