If ever there were a reasonably priced house in a super cute neighborhood that was worth putting pants and a mask on to go see, this is it.

It’s a Midcentury Modern, or MCM or “yay, love those lines.” And we’re not talking about the ones wrapping around the building at Central Market, though both are arguably worth the wait.

A Park-Like Setting

These lines belong to 602 Thompson Drive in Richardson, specifically Richardson Heights and even more specifically, Thompson is the street with the park at the end.

Remember parks? Places where you could stretch your walking sticks? Yeah, it has one of those. And soccer and baseball fields and a playground where the ice cream man used to pop by on occasion. But like a modern ice cream man that takes credit cards so parents don’t feel like total failures not being able to treat their kid to Bomb Pop because WHO CARRIES CASH???

But back to this house because it is really and truly something special. We don’t normally mention the price until the way end, but this one is listed for $385,000 which blows our minds. It’s a three-bedroom, two-bathroom with two living areas and a gorgeous pool. All set on almost a quarter of an acre and get a load of that front lawn.

According to listing agent Jennifer Harris with RE/MAX, “in 2018 the sellers received the coveted Richardson Community Revitalization Award” for their remodel-with-major-integrity efforts. The interior is bright and open and highlights the original design of the home.

While the bathrooms don’t appear to be updated, they have been “maintained and refurbished” so you get that classic four-inch tile feel with the comfort that it’s been spiffed up.

The only, only drawback is it has a carport instead of a garage, but it’d be real easy to pop a door on the front of the ‘port. PLUS *personal experience alert* having a carport was the only time in history when my husband and I have been able to park our two jumbo Texas cars in a single covered space.

While there’s not currently a virtual tour available, Harris will make every accommodation to keep you CDC compliant during the showing.
