Arlington Brings Its A-Game With This A-Frame

Arlington, you majestic little hooskerdoo. Hiding a pocket of 1970s gems like this one.

Here’s the rotten deal upfront — it’s under contract. But where there is one, there are more. Maybe Arlington hasn’t been on your radar, but maybe now it will be. A full-fledged ’70s home with an incredible greenbelt at back and it’s listed under $400,000? That’s definitely a radar maker. Okay, that officially concludes our disclaimer, and now on with the home.

ACTUALLY, one more thing.

It’s never a done deal until it’s done, so if you find yourself smitten with this one, add a save on Zillow and they’ll let you know if the status changes.

Hey, it happens.

Okay, now seriously, more about this house.

It’s a 1973 single-story with an A-Frame entryway. It has all the classics of the 1970s too. Lots of browns and beige and taupe and the one and only rock fireplace. The backside of the fireplace makes for a grand entry in the foyer.

Even though they’ve kept the entryway cleared of clutter, there’s room to add a console table, bench, or fiddleleaf fig. Why not, you know? They like indirect light and turns out if you water them, they actually grow.

The A-Frame sets the stage for a fully vaulted ceiling in the living room. (It’s right on the other side of that killer fireplace.) In the living area, there’s a bookcase built in. At the end of the long living area, there’s a wall of glass that shows off the amazing backyard that also happens to be huge.

There are so many midcentury nods in this one I had to double-check the construction dates. Those clerestory windows are very midcentury and so are the parquet floors that you can find in the bedrooms. The wood paneling, low ceilings, long vanities — all very MCM.

Out back there’s an impressive covered patio and backyard that leads into the green space that is protected and can’t be built upon.

Boy that does not seem like proper grammar … let’s see how Keller Williams’ Brandee Kelley put it – the greenspace directly behind the property is not buildable so your privacy is protected.

Buildable. Huh. Works for me.

Kelley listed 4715 Woodside Drive for $350,000.
