This Well-Loved Wynnewood Home Is A Total Winner

We’ve all experienced the house where the pictures are a freaking work of art and then you show up and you’re like um…uh…is this the same house?

Guess what’s not that? The house at 506 Woolsey Drive in Wynnewood in Oak Cliff. Not only are the pictures phenomenal, but when you see it in person, it’s even better. Dave Perry-Miller’s Susan Melnick’s assistant, a lil’ gal by the name of Mackenzie Larch, said the colors in person are just so good (even the bold ones).

First of all, these are the second-ever owners. A two-owner home is v. rare. Especially one that was constructed in 1954. What’s the benefit? Typically, the thinking is if you’ve owned a home for a long time, you’ve taken great care of it because it was always intended to be your forever home. Not a pitstop on the way to bigger, more McMansion-y pastures. NOT THAT THERE’S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT.

You know what I’m obsessed with? The bathroom tile. It’s patterned but in muted tones, so a week later you won’t be over it.

In the case of Woolsey, you can tell it has been loved and updated exceptionally well. Tasteful, but not trendy or cookie cutter. Thoughtfully even. There’s a looong list of updates, but let’s hit some highlights. That sparkling pool was added in 1998 and then replastered with new tile and a new pump in 2010. (And it’s professionally serviced every week.)

The HVAC was replaced in 2021 along with a cedar board-on-board fence, electric front gate, and landscaping out front. In 2020, the owners were BUSY, too, updating the sprinkler system, landscaping out back, kitchen backsplash, AND flooring.

I mean, seriously, the list goes on and on. It’s just really incredible. The list price of $625,000 might seem steep, but when you consider everything that’s been completed, it makes sense. Plus, at 2,246 square feet, this is a larger three-bedroom home in Wynnewood and there are three full bathrooms. Practically unheard of in 1954 construction.

The garage has been converted and Larch said it’s one of the most seamless conversions she’s ever seen. In fact, one of the only ways you can tell is a slight variation in the brick work.

The interior is stunning, the lot is stunning, Wynnewood is incredibly cute and sought after and above all else, it’s a community.

Susan Melnick of Dave Perry-Miller has listed 506 Woolsey Drive for $625,000.
