Sometimes you just luck into a great rental in North Oak Cliff, and this is one of those times. In a neighborhood Facebook group, Richard Akers told everyone about his newly remodeled duplex with two available units right in the heart of Kings Highway — and we begged him for more details.
The duplex is an upstairs/downstairs property, and now that the dust has settled and been cleared out from the remodel, both units are available for immediate move in, Akers told us.
“The upper unit (1315) has a dramatic stairwell entry — perfect for art!” he said. “Both units have great views of the tree-lined street and backyard.”
And the lucky folks to sign leases will be the first to live there since Akers put new tile in the kitchens and baths, refinished the hardwoods throughout the two homes, adopted a neutral paint scheme. and added designer accent hardware. The renovated kitchens also have stainless steel appliances.
Each two-bedroom, one bath unit is 950 square feet, but wise design choices make it feel more substantial.
And if that wasn’t enough, the stackable washer and dryer are included in the units, and you have the use of an oversized, landscaped backyard and covered parking.
The duplex is close to all the shopping and dining on Davis Street, and sits in the highly-sought out Rosemont Elementary and Middle School attendance zones, and Sunset High (which met state standards and earned four distinctions).
