This Richardson Heights Star Shines Bright (and Should Go Fast)

Certain neighborhoods tend to pop up frequently for Daltxrealestate’s Thursday Three Hundred round-up: northeast Dallas, Lake Highlands, and Richardson. But since I took the reins of this weekly feature a few months ago, I’d forgotten just how special the mid-century homes were in the popular Richardson Heights neighborhood near Arapaho and Floyd Road until a reader alerted us to his home new on the market. The 1961-built home at 629 Stardust Lane is a darling three bedroom, two bath, and one half-bath gem with 2,047 square feet. It’s listed for $375,000 by Ric Shanahan of Keller Williams Urban Dallas.

Having purchased the home from its first and original owners, the sellers set about updating the Stardust Lane home to keep its original 60s flare. As such, they kept the original hardwoods in the bedrooms, hall, and living area — a patchwork parquet floor that was so unique they never even considered changing it.

The kitchen features stainless steel appliances including oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and electric cooktop. Custom touches include a farm sink, unique concrete countertops, and a built-in cutting board. The kitchen flows into the fireplace and living area that’s made bright by a large skylight and French doors to the backyard. Next to the kitchen is a large dining area with rustic hand-strung light fixture overhead.

The three bedrooms look crisp with hardwood floors and charcoal gray walls with white baseboards, plus all the closets have updated closet systems. The bathrooms feature quartz countertops, vessel sinks, and honeycomb tile flooring.

The original owners converted the garage to a bonus room decades ago, and now works as an expansive office with lots of storage. The backyard is huge, with pool and spa, landscaped green space, and a fenced dog run that has two storage buildings.

This home is zoned for highly-rated Richardson ISD, attending Richardson Heights Elementary, West Junior High, and Richardson High School.

Check out the listing for more photos. An open house is scheduled from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 7.
