You know what’s boring? Non-colorful doors. Colorful doors are a trend that’s been around a minute and it’s still going strong. There are tips. There are tricks. Muted Turquoise
The quintessential midcentury turquoise is a little brighter, but lately, we’ve watched those “HEY HI I’M MCM” hyperpigmented colors make way for their moody, muted counterparts. It’s crazy how the tiniest tweak in dialing it down can make a home look more sophisticated. I have swatches on my front door and fingers crossed I get that knocked out in the next decade. SHE BELIEVED SHE COULD SO SHE MIGHT.

Bright Yellow
This whole house is still one of my favorite color stories to date. Completely redone by Thani Burke and her husband Landon Burke of Burke Building and Restoration, it’s incredible. The sunny front door could NOT be more welcoming, and the fun follow up inside on the kitchen cabinets and hallway wallpaper made all my dreams come true.

Bright Blue
It’s not just any bright blue, it’s THE bright blue of Ole Miss. A nod to their son’s alma mater, this M Streets couple nailed the heck out of it. The way this blue pops against the red brick make it one of the best I’ve seen this whole dang year. Fun couple, great story, tip top color choice!!

Bright Red
A red front door is literally one of the boldest statements you can make and this one has my heart. Not only is it the perfect bright red on the perfect arched door on the perfect Tudor, it’s also an adorable home with a wonderful history. Muted Blue
The more-blue-than-gray-but-still-a-little-gray on this front door is the perfect backdrop to just about every color you can imagine. Which means it can be a wreath party over there all year long. Picture a blush wreath for Valentine’s Day and one with tiny yellow flowers for Spring. See what I’m saying? It’s THE color you need. Looking killer with that stark white exterior, too.
