Look at ol’ Darbyshire getting it done. Red alert, highest and best deadline has been set at 4 p.m. today. Depending on when you read this, there’s still time!! There could be time. There’s no time?! Well, let’s talk a good long look at Darbyshire because it’s pretty freaking great.

Updated to the Xtreme in 2019, there’s a lot of “new” to love. Built in 1960, all brick with an A-Frame accent, on the exterior, you’d think it’s a single story. But, oh no, my friends, it’s a two-story. (There’s a loft upstairs.)

A coat of white paint on the outside plus those gotta-have-them wood accents gives you a really strong hint of the mod-ed-out interior.

How great is that front entryway, right? Like, lead with that photo all day. Brick, siding, a double set of modern planters, and that front door. It’s MCM, but different. Then you set foot inside and let the wolf whistles begin. A set of modern steps are like right inside the door. That’s a tough one because it could go “cramped” real fast. Instead, they opted for a simple, open cable railing so it feels open and goes with the theme of the house.

As for fixtures, this house has it all. The entry pendant is from Design Within Reach, West Elm is in the bathrooms and the family room and kitchen are from Dutton Brown and Schoolhouse. Perfect picks for this house and I, personally, have yet to discover Dutton Brown so, high five, homeowners for teaching us something new.

Other improvements? There are a plenty: professionally landscaped yard, crushed gravel firepit, and remodeled bathrooms. Then there are the mechanical updates like pool deck resurfaced, electrical panel upgraded, resurfaced driveway (back) and front porch, insulation added, HVAC ductwork repaired and replaced, and seriously, I’m not even making a dent in the list. “A plenty” was an understatement.

All that and it’s just so dang pretty. Gorgeous hardwoods, waterfall quartz island, open kitchen, double-sided fireplace, cathedral ceilings, huge windows, and a barn door in the Primary that looks modern and blends right in.
