Hollywood Heights is one of those picturesque neighborhoods filmmakers love. It’s quaint, charming, and has a unique character. The vast majority of homes were built in the 1920s and ‘30s in a variety of styles, from Spanish eclectic to Craftsman, but the most coveted are the classic Tudor homes. In fact, speculation runs high that it has the largest collection of stone-embellished Tudor cottages in America. Finding one is tricky enough, as once people move in, they stay a good long while. Finding one that’s been fully renovated and for sale is a dream come true. Our Saturday Six Hundred at 904 Clermont is just that. It’s listed by Jim Costello with Costello & Associates.

When the present owners purchased the home, it was in need of some deep love. Their agent, Britt Lopez, has an unmatched depth of experience with homes in the neighborhood, having lived there for many years herself. She recommended the Bella Vista Company, long known for their sensitivity to and understanding of period homes. They fully remodeled this 1,842-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom charmer just a few years ago. While Bella Vista always does flawless work, it must be hard to decide which homes make the cut to be featured on their website portfolio — this one is front and center. In their own words:

The new galley kitchen has elegant marble countertops, lots of charming details in the cabinetry and a built in bench in the dining area for seating. The fireplace in the living room was updated with new trim and lovely marble and both bathrooms were completely gutted and redressed with all new finishes and fixtures.

One of the most spectacular elements of these Tudor homes is the central stained glass window in the living room. This home features a gorgeous Gothic arch with the stained elements on the top third and classic decorative trim work under the roof line.

It’s exactly what attracts buyers to Hollywood Heights, and the fact this home is move-in ready means we expect it to spin off the market rather fast. At a list price of $665,000, it’s more than a deal, and consider the fact it’s in a conservation district and also within walking distance of Woodrow Wilson High School, which has the coveted International Baccalaureate program.
