It’s over in Elmwood, which Better Homes & Gardens Winans’ Tiffani Geisert pointed out used to be a dairy farm so there’s tons of history in this neighborhood. It’s very friendly and walkable and close-knit, too.
It’s super close to downtown Dallas and the Bishop Arts District and everything you love about Oak Cliff. In fact, Oak Cliff Brewery is within walking distance and the dog park is, too.
There are lots of big shady trees in Elmwood, as well as — you guessed it — adorable homes. This one in particular is a brick Tudor with a big front porch, a board-on-board fence for privacy, plus a big ol’ gate so you can pull your cars around back.
The front porch is fabulous, and the concrete was recently repoured this year. And as amazing as it is, it doesn’t even come close to the incredible, completely screened-in megaporch out back. It’s like a whole second living area, or a third dining area. It’s the best and it’s framed out in cedar, I believe, with a star inset no less.
Inside, the kitchen has been completely gutted and JUST finished so it’s like a brand-new kitchen all for you. Everything is really classic in the kitchen with a surprise pop of color on the sunny yellow swinging door. If you wanted to add additional counter space, it’s as easy as wheeling in a stainless steel or butcher block island.
The primary bathroom has been remodeled as well, along with adding fresh carpet in the primary bedroom. What’s so great about both of these remodels is they didn’t take away the charm of the original house.
