In case you didn’t know, Brettonwoods does indeed have an “s” on it. It’s a sweet little suburban pocket over in Oak Cliff. Dave Perry-Miller’s DeCarla Anderson has lived in several houses over there and she loves it. It’s just one of those places you don’t want to leave. You might swap houses, but you can’t help but hang around.
Fun Fact: The current owners of today’s featured listing are sticking close by. They’re hooked on Brettonwoods, too.

Anderson said it has the suburban feel, then said actually, it feels a lot like Central Texas. Towering trees line the streets and Crow Creek cuts through the neighborhood, making room for lots of nature and, I don’t know, bird-watching I guess? Is that a real thing people do? (Post in the comments below. Angry responses only.)
Perfection on Periwinkle
Now let’s talk about this super cute little ranch-style home. It’s literally as cute as the street name it sits on – Periwinkle Drive.

It was completely remodeled in 2019 by Diana Boswell and her husband, John. Anderson said they do really beautiful work and this one is no exception. (She’s such a fan of the Boswells work, her daughter bought one of their remodels.)
The exterior is the perfect shade of creamy white with a sunny yellow midcentury door. Inside they repolished the hardwoods, opened up and updated the kitchen, and remodeled both bathrooms. Both bathrooms have dual sinks and are impressive. I mean, they’re perfectly updated and they’re big, especially given the era. That’s all I’m saying. Also, look how simple those mirrors are, but so perfect and CLASSY.

Anderson loves the flow in this house. It has a great floorplan and since it’s set on a larger lot, the backyard is freaking huge. (And lined with a horizontal cedar plank fence. High fives.)

There’s an attached two-car garage, a utility room, and a mudroom. Again, whaaaa? So great.

More facts about Brettonwoods: It’s a pocket of custom homes built in the 1950s and 1960s. Heck yeah, there’s a neighborhood association and Anderson said when she lived over there, they were the best neighbors she’s ever had. All that and in 1963, the inventor of “the modern wheeled luggage carrier” lived on Gladiolus. (Another B-woods street.)
Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate’s DeCarla Anderson has 3812 Periwinkle Drive listed for $370,000.
