Kessler Park is one of our favorite parts of North Oak Cliff, a neighborhood with history, topography, winding streets, arching shade trees, and so much more.

In this week’s Splurge vs Steal, we’re looking at two Kessler Park beauties. Which one is your favorite?

The gorgeous Austin Stone Tudor at 2302 Kessler Pkwy. overlooks Stevens Park Golf Course and has been redesigned to embrace the scenic views. This home has five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, one half bath, three living areas, and 4,087 square feet on two stories, built in 1940. The third living area, fifth bedroom, and a second kitchen are part of an attached guest suite with a private entrance from the left side of home, with direct access to the backyard as well as a full bedroom and bathroom.

Inside the house, find impressive finishes from top to bottom including a kitchen that flows effortlessly into the living and dining areas, and oversized picture windows in many rooms. In the kitchen, find a space customized for entertaining, including a large quartzite island, commercial-grade appliances, dual wine captains, tons of gray Shaker-style cabinets, and double ovens. The lovely master suite has an ensuite spa bath with a sculptural soaker tub, amazing closet, and private balcony. All of the bedrooms have ensuite baths. The backyard has beautiful hardscaping, multiple seating areas, landscaping, and mature trees.

This home was listed April 19 by Melissa O’Brien with Dave Perry-Miller InTown for $1.15 million.

One mile away, our steal at 834 Knott Pl. is a recently renovated ranch designed for entertaining. This home has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, one half bath, two living areas, two dining areas, and 2,204 square feet on one story, built in 1964.

The front living area features hardwood floors, which extend to the bedrooms, too. The second living areas, dining areas, and kitchen are open concept with Terrazzo floors, recessed lights, lots of natural light, and French doors leading to the private fenced backyard. The kitchen features waterfall quartz countertops, solid walnut cabinetry, and Jenn-Air appliances, including a steam oven. In the master bedroom, the ensuite bath has dual sinks, a jetted tub, separate shower, and French doors to the backyard. Two secondary bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bath.

This home was listed April 13 by Carolyn Albers Black with Ebby Halliday Realtors for $625,000.
