Our quest for holiday-themed streets in Tarrant County takes us to a home that Santa might not leave after he finishes delivering the goodies to the boys and girls. This spectacular home on Merrymount Road is in the prestigious neighborhood of Westover Hills. And when we say “prestigious” we mean the crème de la crème of places to live not only in Tarrant County, not only in Texas but in the United States of America.
Making Merrymount in Westover Hills
We’ve highlighted Westover Hills multiple times over the past decade. It’s an enclave nestled within Fort Worth yet is its own municipality. The neighborhood is surrounded by rolling hills, gorgeous trees, and plenty of private security guards watching your every move.
Until a few years ago, Westover Hills proudly boasted that it had the highest income per capita in Texas. That was true until those super-snooty residents of River Oaks in Houston took the crown. FYI: Westover Hills is probably not the ideal neighborhood to sell cookies, candles, magazine subscriptions, or solar panels … just saying.
Why Would Santa Ever Leave Merrymount Road?
Believe what you want, but Santa is real and if 6101 Merrymount Road is early on his schedule on December 24th, he might just forgo traipsing around the globe and hang out in this amazing home.
Built in 1971 but completely transformed since then, this single-story modern home of nearly 5,000 square feet comes complete with four bedrooms, three full and two half bathrooms, and has the look and feel of a museum.
This is not a home you can bring your faux leather La-Z-Boy chair into. This is a home where your furniture selection needs to match the perfection of the interior. Sorry, no bean bag chairs at 6101 Merrymount Road.
Nearly 5,000 square feet is a pretty darn big single-story home. The rooms are all spacious, the windows are stunning and give you the feel that you can almost touch the outside from your couch or dining table.
This home is magazine-quality. It’s hard to believe people live in this home. Everything is so perfectly placed that once you close your mouth from gawking you’ll want to walk around with booties on your feet and gloves so you don’t mess anything up.
Lovely Yet Liveable
But 6101 Merrymount Road is NOT a museum. It is a touchable home that is ready for its next owner. It can be as cozy and quaint as you want it and it can be yours.
The kitchen is still the gathering place. Yes, you can easily seat the fête set in the expansive dining area or you could easily grab a pizza and a puzzle and put on your fuzzy pajama pants and slippers and enjoy a fun family night.
The first thing I would do if this were my house would be to put on fuzzy socks and go sliding around the White Oak hardwood floors. Don’t tell me you’ve never done that.
Making Merrymount
Let’s continue the tour inside and outside this home. I previously mentioned the rooms were generously proportioned, but check out the primary suite.
Of course, to accompany the suite is a luxurious spa-like bathroom as well.
And of course, the outside of the home is just as beautiful. Santa could lose all his holiday heft by doing some laps in the pool while Buddy the Elf fills up the spa with bubbles.
This super-cool home listed by Joseph Berkes and Kendall Kostohryz of Williams Trew Real Estate at 6101 Merrymount Road can be yours for $3.499 million. No guarantees that Santa will stay for summer or not.
