As Dallas and the rest of the country struggles to find a new post-pandemic normal, we’ve had a tough time bringing our readers a few special homes to tour each weekend.

We’re happy to report, however, that the seasons have changed, the temperatures should be dropping soon, and the listings — finally — abound.

This week’s open houses include a $3.75 million Mediterranean in Preston Hollow, a custom home in fast-growing Frisco, and a lakeside stunner in Tarrant County.

Demand for a single-family homes has spiked along with the inventory, but the prices also are going up, according to a Sept. 12 report from Norada Real Estate Investments. Multiple offers on a home are becoming the norm again, which can create a bidding war that drives up the price, the report states.

Simply the Best

The $3.75 million mansion at 6326 Lakehurst Ave. is worth a pretty penny.

With five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and breathtaking stone architecture, this Mediterranean oasis has it all.

It features multiple balconies, wrought iron detailing, a tile and metal roof, imported marble floors, antique vanities, an elevator, and a double staircase. There are two primary suites — one upstairs and one downstairs — with massive wardrobe closets, sitting areas, heated bathroom floors, and saunas.

The gourmet kitchen has a host of high-end amenities, including stainless steel Viking appliances and a built-in espresso machine. The backyard has low-maintenance turf, a resort-style pool, and a covered patio.

Realtor Courtney Anthony with Keller Williams Realty is hosting an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23.

Top of The List

Frisco is rapidly becoming the place to be.

It’s No. 1 on WalletHub’s top 10 places to buy a home and the soon-to-be home of Fields Frisco, a massive city within a city bringing 3,500 homes to the area.

And did we mention there’s a brand new H-E-B grocery store?

In the posh, gated portion of Shaddock Creek Estates sits a Kirlin Custom Home at 10061 Hillsdale Lane.

This luxury listing features four bedrooms, four-and-one-half bathrooms, soaring ceilings, and 5,000 square feet. There’s a new roof, three new air-conditioning units, updated landscaping, and new outdoor light fixtures. Safety comes first at this $1.3 million pad with security equipment and a new alarm system.

The media room and back patio are wired for sound. The kitchen features an oversized center island, gas cooktop, and double ovens. A wet bar and wine room give good vibes to the open living space.

The large master bedroom boasts a sitting area and separate shower and tub in the spacious bathroom. Gorgeous hardwood floors and plantation shutters are spread throughout. Kids can enjoy the backyard pool and short walking distance to Wakeland High School.

Realtor Ashley Smith with Monument Realty is hosting open houses from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, and Sunday, Sept. 25.

Keeping Up with Kennedale

Full disclosure: We haven’t seen a lot of listings in the Tarrant County community of Kennedale. This one at 1707 Stags Leap Trail, is pretty special. It’s right next to a community lake.

Built in 2018 by First Texas Homes in The Vineyard neighborhood, this two-story, six-bedroom stunner is listed at $649,900.

The master bedroom features wood flooring, natural lighting, and a huge walk-in closet. A guest suite with an adjacent bathroom is also on the first floor. The home has two dining rooms, a curved staircase, a street-side office, a media room, and three living areas.

The California kitchen boasts a walk-in pantry, butler’s pantry, and built-in appliances. A covered patio is a great spot for lakeside entertaining.

Realtor Liz Loncar with Ebby Halliday-Rockwall is hosting an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25.
