    • “I know how valuable my client’s time is so that’s important, and then I’m there to guide them through the journey,” Hill says.

@properties Christie’s International Real Estate agent Joshua Hill is a passionate guy. When you speak to him, your own voice loudens and quickens to meet his. And last month when daltxrealestate.com broke the news that Hill brought the buyers to the majestic multimillion-dollar estate at 9727 Audubon Place, he was on his toes.

Yes, agents are always “on” when a home is closing, let alone a listing that’s so exclusive that elite luxury agents simply refer to it as “Audubon” and everyone just knows. But Hill wanted to make sure everyone — the uber private buyer, the uber private seller, and even the seller’s agent — was okay with the inevitable media coverage of this historic home sale and help protect their privacy. It was, after all, a top-five transaction in Dallas and the largest home sale in @properties’ Dallas history.

That concern for his clients and all parties involved has become a tenet of his work as a real estate agent.

“I treat the seller’s agents like I treat my clients,” Hill says. “I’m always making sure everyone in the transaction is happy and got what they wanted. I will do whatever it takes.”

Luxury Aspirations

With the sale of that high-profile home near the corner of Audubon Place and Inwood Road — one with an out-of-this-world garage that Million Dollar Listing’s Ryan Serhant raved about nationally, Hill’s on the right track.

Born and raised in the Metroplex, Hill describes himself as a child of Fort Worth and a teen of Rockwall. But it sounds like he was really a young man about town.

“As soon as I got my driver’s license, I’d go driving through Highland Park and look at all the amazing homes,” Hill says. “I knew one day I would buy a home there in my future.”

Clearly, he had an appreciation for luxury homes, but becoming a real estate agent wasn’t yet on his mind. First, Hill had to get dirty, so to speak.

Hill spent his youth motocross racing, or off-road dirt bike racing, often traversing around the state, spending time with friends enjoying easier times. The excitement and danger of the sport he loved. “But it became an expensive ‘hobby’ to have when you’re entering the real world and you have bills to pay,” Hill says.

Real Estate Life

Hill traded in racing life for the real world and began working in the fiber optic industry, which was a family business, and then apartment locating. Helping people find an apartment was a good fit for Hill, who’s an energetic, fun kind-of-guy, but working with clients in that industry felt more transactional.

“I like to spend more time with clients and become friends,” Hill says. He left apartment-locating soon after receiving his real estate license, building his business over the last five years to focus on luxury residential sales.

“My first year in the market was 2017 when it was a buyer’s market,” he says. “My initial clients were all friends. I got 10 to 15 of my friends into new homes that year.”

For a real estate strategy based on relationship building, did the pandemic radically change his approach?

“Not really. Selling a house is selling a house,” Hill says. “You have to know what your clients want. Figure out why they’re moving and what they want in a home.

“I know how valuable my client’s time is so that’s important, and then I’m there to guide them through the journey,” Hill says.

Now that he’s got a few years under his belt, Hill appreciates being associated with a luxury brand like @properties Christie’s International Real Estate. “I knew I wanted to sell luxury real estate and I knew how highly people spoke of Jerry Mooty, CEO and Principal of @properties Dallas,” Hill says. “I’m happy to be a part of the growth in the future and continue this momentum. This brokerage is young and on fire.”
