There’s Nothing Fowl About This Charming Roost in Weston

Let’s start with the obvious. This home has one of the top 10 street names of all time. It’s Chicken Street and it’s located in downtown Weston.

Downtown where now?

Weston. Compass Real Estate’s Cindy Peters said, “if you drive too fast, you’ll miss it.” But that’s the point, she added. If you’re looking for a small-town feel that’s not too far from Dallas, here’s your house.

It’s a Craftsman that was built in 1958. You’re probably wondering who the heck was out there in 1958 and the honest answer is we do not know. Someone that liked really cute houses, that’s for sure. And space and land.

Which reminds me, wouldn’t this be a great second home? That you turned into an Airbnb or Vrbo? So I could come out there with my kids and pretend we live the simple life that we all crave but are nervous to try? Mostly because there isn’t a NorthPark out in Weston.

(And really, my note to you, the reader, is BREAK FREE, MOVE OUT THERE AND LIVE THAT LIFE.)

AND you don’t even need a NorthPark because guess what you do have? Celina.

Weston is right by that sprawling metropolis, which I can say without even a hint of sarcasm because it actually is a sprawling city. Metropolis might be a stretch, but impressive, lovely, shiny, and new, the well-planned city is 100 percent true.

Cindy said she moved out to Celina from Preston Hollow years ago and even she’s impressed with what it’s become. Which is one more great reason to buy this house on Chicken Street. You’ll be getting in before Weston becomes the next big thing.

And since it’s located in downtown Weston, you’ll have a primo spot for the annual Fourth of July festivities, which are kind of a big deal.

So to recap, charming small town, extra charming 1958-built home, lots of character intact, almost one full acre of treed land under your feet and an opportunity to live there full time, make it a rental and get in while the gettin’s good.

Hey, it’s a small town, like I’m not going to close with something folksy.

And yes, in case you were wondering, Peters did confirm that you can, in fact, have chickens on Chicken Street.

Peters has 313 Chicken Street listed for $389,000.
