This Little House With Big Finish Out Will Make You Rethink South Dallas

I’ve been listening to a lot of Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend and he’s mentioned a bit he always did with Jack McBrayer where he (Conan) plays an arrogant city slicker to McBayer’s perceived bumpkin. And that’s how I’m going to start this one out. With an accented “Well, well, well, what have we here?” Because what we have is a crazy top-of-the-line house in South Dallas that’s spitting distance from downtown Dallas and Fair Park.

OK, that’s a gross expression and in this case, it’s not even true. Unless you’re, like, a world-class champion long-distance spitter, but the point is, this is an incredibly convenient location and one that is likely about to pop.

Breaking South Dallas Stereotypes

Whatever gives me that idea? Development is booming in the area just south of downtown Dallas. And if that’s not enough to convince you of the solid “up-and-coming” status, the fact that several new builds have recently been added to the street certainly confirms my suspicions.

Now on with the show, or house … are you still on a three-day vacation? Apparently, the part of my brain that normally puts a stop to clichés is. So like I said, on with the show — this house.

Originally built in 1911, this house was taken to the studs a few short years ago. The layout was tweaked, walls were moved, tile was added, and smooth bright white walls were finished throughout the three-bedroom, two-bath, 1,044-square-foot home. It’s seriously so impressive.

There’s a little flair everywhere you look, from the custom shutters out front to the decorative tiled in-wall fireplace inside. Everything is super modern but never stark. A delicate look to pull off, friends. The kitchen is open and cozy and the sconces are just one of the ways this home stands out from its peers. If homes can have peers. Sure they can.

Take a peek at that bathroom and tell me that’s not something you normally find in a house with a way higher price tag?! You know what else you don’t typically find in this price range? All the stonework out front and a built-in stone firepit in the back. What else is back there? Oh, just a JACUZZI with privacy blind. Whaaa?
