Inwood Home of the Week: Gaston Terrace C Street Beauty Gets an A+ for Awesome!

7243-Casa-Loma-Front

I always told our kids that, in our family, C’s were not acceptable. This was an A or B house. (Call me an early Tiger Mom!) But I may have to tweak my  House Rules for this angel of a new home at 7243 Casa Loma, in  the C Streets.

The C Streets? Why that woud be the area just south of Gaston Road and just west of East Grand. A half dozen charming streets are often known as the C Streets, and border Lakewood Country Club to the east. Most of the original homes in  Lakewood were built in the late 1930’s through the 1950’s. This area feeds into the coveted Lakewood Elementary, one of the premier elementary schools in the Dallas Independent School District.

This home is a total charmer of painted brick, giving it a totally traditional exterior that blends right into the very traditional neighborhood. But the interiors are all about clean-lines and light, lots of light! And it’s all about performance with workable rooms, great open spaces and beautiful dark hardwoods. You enter to be flanked by the dining room and a flex study/parlor, winking at the world through arched windows, while a huge family room opens to a dreamy kitchen loaded with stainless top line appliances and marble that simply takes your breath away.

Well mine, anyhow. I am a marble whore, I have decided.

The home is a hefty 4035 square feet that packs in the formals, the family room and kitchen, a utility room, four bedrooms, four baths, one cute half bath, a two car garage and a lovely covered patio.  And sweet Jesus hold your mighty horses: the master bedroom here is downstairs! With a master bath on steroids! Even so, the yard has enough room for a pool or play — at .16 of an acre it’s C-Street sized, but sufficient. And the place is beautifully priced: $879,000 for brand-spanking never- been- lived- in new. Listed for $879,000 with my of the best millennial agents in town, Sam Sawyer, who I have been watching for a long time over at Briggs Freeman. Sam, I give this home an A+! And so will the good folks at Inwood Mortgage at Inwood National Bank!
