East Dallas Charmer With An Equally Charming Price

6446f296d6482e8b373c16d64aa43eefl-m0xd-w1020_h770_q80All over Dallas, you can still find adorable Midcentury cottages in the $200,000 to $400,000 range — but generally, it’s a mixed bag as to how move-in ready they are. Not so much with this East Dallas charmer we found for this week’s Tuesday Two Hundred.

And if the curb appeal and updated interiors weren’t enough, it’s also a great find because of its location — you can walk to Larry G. Smith Elementary, a school that got a B grade from the Texas Education Agency’s A-F rankings, and met standard with two distinctions. You’re also in the Bryan Adams High School feeder pattern.

There’s also something a little unusual about this Midcentury Cottage: It has a true master. So many of the original homes from this timeframe are three-bedroom, one-bath homes, so finding a home from this era with one is indeed a find.

But not only does 3343 San Marcus Drive have a master suite, it has three more bedrooms and another bath. That’s right — four bedrooms. Granted, with a 1,520 square foot floor plan they’re not three huge bedrooms, but yes, you do have enough for everyone to have their own space.

And that master suite even has a sitting area and opens to a larger room with access to the covered back patio.

In the common areas, the eat-in kitchen has updated pendant lighting, a stainless steel gas range with vent hood, a tile backsplash, and bright white cabinets.

Throughout the home, neutral paint truly makes it move-in ready — thoughtful paint and flooring choices make it easy to bring your own tastes and style into the home, without worrying that you’re going to need to repaint every room.

In the backyard, a covered patio provides some shady respite from Texas heat. Yes, you may want to replace the fence at some point, but at this price point, you’ll be able to afford that in short order.

The East Dallas home is priced at $218,600, and is listed by Dani Bunch with Knock. Want to see more of it? Click here. To see more about Larry G. Smith Elementary, click here.
