Cute Farmers Branch Bungalow Makes Great Location for First Thanksgiving

MYRA5It’s been a busy week, but when an adorable 1958 Contemporary bungalow hits your inbox, priced at a perfect price point for a young family — and zoned for a great feeder pattern for schools, we make the effort to give it a shout out. And that’s the case with this darling Farmers Branch home.

Kitty Gordon with Angel Realtors pointed out 3146 Myra Lane to us over the weekend. The home is close to convenient commuting, and has been remodeled with modern tastes in mind.

Gordon assured us that all the updates were fully permitted, too. At three bedrooms and two bathrooms, it’s 1,340 square feet of cozy space, with a nice big backyard that’s just screaming for a deck and pergola, and maybe even a swing set.

And while the Farmers Branch home may not be the biggest abode we’ve featured this week in our look at great kitchens and entertaining spaces, it’s a great example of how thoughtful layouts can create great entertaining flow — even in a smaller — nay, fun-sized — home.

New paint and texture, new floors, and new lighting attest to how much attention to detail went in to this remodel, too. When Gordon says it was a complete remodel, she means it.

The kitchen has all new cabinetry, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, and a modern backsplash — plus an oversized pantry. And Gordon tells us it’s the perfect place for a young family to celebrate the holidays.

“This beautiful home, located in desirable Farmers Branch, features a beautifully arranged kitchen with brand new stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, subway tile backsplash, and a double bowl sink with gooseneck faucet,” she said. “Plenty of countertop space for food prep, room to add an island for even greater convenience, plus an open dining area will make your first Thanksgiving celebration a memorable event and clean up a breeze!”

But that wasn’t all that got an update. Both bathrooms were redesigned, and new shower enclosures installed, making great use of what can be smaller spaces in a smaller Midcentury bungalow.

And the unseen updates are just as spectacular — a new four-ton HVAC system and ducts, low-E windows, new doors, garage doors, a new electrical panel, new plumbing, new water heater, a new roof, and a foundation with a lifetime warranty will give new buyers peace of mind.

And the home is in the Chapel Hill Preparatory School attendance zone, which is a personalized learning school in Dallas ISD, as well as Marsh Preparatory Academy (also a personalized learning school), and W.T. White High School, which has a collegiate academy that allows participating students to graduate with both a high school diploma and an associates degree. White also met standard and received seven distinctions from the Texas Education Agency this year, making it the only comprehensive high school in the district to win all seven distinctions.

The home is listed for $245,000.
