We have some of the best readers! One of our fave contributors, Rachael Abrams, sent us this lovely home in Janmar, a remodeled ranch that sits on a large, gorgeous lot with the mature trees that make this area so desirable.
You might be more familiar with this area as Eudora Estates, but it is in a fabulous location — east of Hillcrest and smack-dab in the middle between Forest and Royal. This area is fantastic for access to North Dallas, Shopping near Preston Road, and is close to some of the best private schools in North Texas.
Not only that, but this 1958 ranch has been updated with some great energy efficient features and some high-end finishes. Jump for more on this stunner!
With brand new, energy efficient windows, a clean and bright kitchen, and a gorgeous little pool for cooling off, 7031 Midbury is a fantastic home for a family looking for a fun, low-maintenance house in a wonderful neighborhood. Exceptionally private feeling thanks to the almost half-acre lot, you won’t hardly notice your neighbors.
There are three bedrooms, two full baths, one fireplace in the living room, and a large kitchen in this 2,381-square-foot home. It’s listed for a reduced $599,000, which is in the ballpark of similarly sized nearby homes. Originally price at $615,000, it’s been on the market for just over a month. I have a feeling that this home could sell for around $580,000, which is not shabby at all.
This home has some fantastic floors, all hardwood and a lovely parquet in the living room. The home has been opened up in a tasteful way, with enlarged doorways leading from the dining room and entry of the home into the kitchen and living area. The seller did stop short from what many in the area do: Knock down the all of the cabinets in the galley kitchen and open it to the living area with an island. Instead, they opted for a pass-through, which works, but does make the transition more choppy and less navigable. It does feature some cool LED under-cabinet lighting and a very functional peninsula, as well as an island with the electric cooktop.
The cabinets in this home, along with the granite tile counters, are all in contemporary style, leading this home toward a true transitional feel. Add some great furnishings and pops of color with art and accessories and you’ll have a home that you and your guests will never want to leave!
The master suite is a typical 13 x 16, but it does have a large dressing table area that links the bedroom to the master bath, which has a spacious granite counter and separate vessel sinks. Tons of storage plus more modern/contemporary finishes keep this area feeling open despite its diminutive stature.
Now, the backyard does need some attention when it comes to the landscaping, but this house has an adorable little pool that is just perfect for when you need to float away a stressful day, or when you need your older kids to stop with the summer “I’m bored!” overkill. It’s a great asset for people who want a little extra luxury in their home.
