Check Out This Interior Design MasterClass In Midway Hollow

Here’s a really beautiful house to warm your little heart as the city thaws out. It’s updated beautifully and the interior design is fabulous. Let’s talk about that for a second and how much décor can make a space, right? Obviously.

Just a head’s up, this article is going to focus on design more than the architecture. (Though as a three-bedroom, two-bathroom Ranch style home in Midway Hollow with an attached two-car garage, the architecture is pretty fantastic, too.) But in this one, it’s really the way it’s pulled together that deserves some spotlight.

Not that I’m going to discount those flawless oak floors or the gorgeous quartzite countertops and backsplash in the kitchen because good grief that’s beautiful. It’s a modest kitchen, but the seamless waterfall countertops and backsplash make it feel really special. That and the wood backed countertop that leads into the living room. That’s a detail that makes this open concept feel warm and upscale. That’s a gross word, but you get the idea. It’s elevated!! Not just a typical white drywall, there’s a touch of drama.

Now let’s get into that gorgeous décor like the wallpaper in the second bedroom. I love it so much and inadvertently came across something very similar researching another wallpaper. Yeah, I research wallpaper. Might have an addiction. Don’t care. Rolling with it.

Anyway, here’s the one I found on a website called Bobbi Beck. It’s called Gelato and I get it. If you like the look, but this isn’t the one for you, just Google “Geometric Wallpaper” and let the Internet take it away.

You know what else I love about that room? The pillows. It kind of goes for all of the house. It’s not saturated in color like a PeeWee’s Playhouse, but there are a lot of textures and patterns and little pops of color that make it feel so pulled together and personal.

My literal favorote color combination? The dark red leather bench paired with the palest green upholstered bedframe in the primary bedroom with a wheat-colored upholstered headboard. THEN, there’s a deep midnight velvet occasional chair and the geometric detail on the white nightstands. I told you!! Textures pull it together.

The primary bathroom is large and streamlined. Classic white subway tile, black penny tile and then the woodgrain of the cabinets is the hero. Open call to this owner, come decorate my house. I freaking love it.
