Westover Hills

Three years ago, 2205 Hidden Creek Road was a fine home in Fort Worth’s posh Westover Hills. Now, in 2024 the home has been transformed into a chic family home with loads of curb appeal and fab spaces for entertaining.

“It was lovingly remodeled and updated to fit a contemporary, young owner but it certainly could work for anybody,” said Realtor Susanna Bartolomei. Now with Compass Real Estate, Bartolomei sold it to the young family in 2021 and has it listed now that they are relocating.

Reimagining a Westover Hills Home With a Sleeker Look

The sellers worked with interior designer Emily Gilbert, proprietor of Fort Worth’s Emily Gilbert Designs, to make the house they bought into the home they love. From the outside in, the house has been reimagined.

The house’s façade was updated with new paint, plus slender columns and balconettes were removed. The drive-up first impression is wow-worthy.

Light and bright rules in this renovated living room.

“They made it sleeker looking,” Barolomei said of the exterior updates to the house built in 1977. “It was definitely of an era and they needed to make it more their own.”

Inside, the look is sophisticated with its beautiful hardwood floors and spaces made for entertaining. The traditional floor plan was adjusted slightly, allowing the kitchen and informal living area a greater connection.

Gilbert helped extensively with what was the home’s biggest project. A large kitchen island functions as a homework space for the family’s children, and hidden storage conceals any clutter. Paneling disguises the refrigerator, while the Fulgor Milano range remains a highlight. The Taj Mahal quartzite counters in the kitchen were repeated in the family room, complete with a wet bar.

“It really flows nicely and works well,” Bartolomei said of the reworked family space.

Designed For Entertaining

One of the home’s highlights is the gorgeous dining room, featuring an aqua Schumacher wallpaper, a designer chandelier, and a convenient butler’s pantry. The beautiful powder room was spruced up with marble countertops and Phillip Jeffries wallpaper.

Diners here will enjoy meals surrounded by Schumacher wallpaper.

This five-bedroom, five-bath home with 5,501 square feet features four living areas with plenty of spaces for entertaining and studying. The owners’ suite offers views of the backyard pool, and upstairs, a fifth bedroom was added. The updates make the house great for a large family, and at the same time, offers cozy spaces, too.

“It’s not so open that you don’t have intimacy,” the listing agent said. “It was lovingly remodeled and updated to fit a contemporary, young owner but it certainly could work for anybody.”

A putting green and swimming pool await in the backyard.

Same Great Address

One thing that didn’t change is the house’s great location in Westover Hills, encircled by Fort Worth but technically its own tony town. The tight-knit community is surrounded by rolling hills and lovely trees. For years, Westover Hills boasted the highest income per capita in the state, before being topped by Houston’s River Oaks neighborhood.

“With such limited inventory on the west side of Fort Worth, especially in Westover Hills, it’s a real rare find,” Bartolomei said. “It’s remarkable to see five bedrooms under $3 million in Westover Hills.”

Susanna Bartolomei of Compass Real Estate has listed 2205 Hidden Creek Road in Westover Hills for $2.75 million.
