When Burb Homes Give You Deja Vu, This Allen Home Stands Out

When selecting Thursday Three Hundred homes, I have nothing against recently-built suburban neighborhood homes in high-growth areas, but I do have to say there’s a trade-off. For what you get in a shiny move-in ready home with the latest amenities, there’s an undeniable homogeneity that makes you feel like you’ve seen this home before. That’s why I was happy to find 806 Fawn Valley Drive in Allen: a five bedroom, three bath, 2,632-square-foot home that boasts architectural features and little details that make you appreciate the home in itself. It’s listed for $315,000 by Pareen Desai of JP & Associates Frisco.

This red brick two-story, surrounded by large mature trees, has tall ceilings, lots of windows, and a flowing living room with views of the dining room and family room that opens to the kitchen.  The kitchen has freshly painted cabinets, granite countertops, tile backsplash, and stainless steel appliances, including a four-burner gas range and oven, built-in microwave, and dishwasher.

The downstairs master has a bay window sitting area and generous bathroom with tile floors and white-washed-style cabinets. Okay, yes there’s still popcorn on the ceiling, but for a home built in 1987, I think this one shows beautifully.

The backyard has a pergola patio with an outdoor kitchen, including a grill and sink. Large trees shade the backyard, which is neatly landscaped around the perimeter of the grass yard.

Updates within the last five years include water heater, both furnaces, the downstairs condenser, and roof.  There’s fresh paint throughout, new laminate floors, and foundation work being done with a lifetime transferable warranty.
