It is a great honor to have been asked by this fantastic group to be the keynote luncheon speaker on April 10, 2019 … one week from Wednesday!

The Mission of the Park Cities Historic and Preservation Society is one near and dear to our hearts here at Daltxrealestate.com: to preserve and promote the history, architecture, aesthetics and cultural traditions of the Park Cities.

So generous is this organization, though, they do not stop there: funds raised help preserve and maintain the Park Cities House at Dallas Heritage Village, support the new PCHPS archives at the University Park Library, fund the Society’s landmarking initiatives, award scholarships to Highland Park High School graduating seniors planning to study architecture or history and fund the Distinguished Chair for History at Highland Park High School.

And the Society cares deeply about preservation everywhere.

I am particularly grateful for the chance to give my message on the importance of preservation across our region, as we have covered from Collingswood House in Plano to the Blue House on Browder and Beaumont, to Tenth Street and Wheatley Place,

We care, too, deeply about the beautiful Midcentury Moderns in Dallas and want to see them preserved, too. We have a huge collection of them, one of the largest in the country. We believe homes are the foundations for so very much good in our society, and nurturing havens for our families. That is why I believe homes are the footprints of our history, and we need to take great care of them.

I hope to see you on April 10, at Brookhollow Country Club! And of course, at the Home Tour!
