Of course, this sweet house will give you many excuses to stay in, not the least of which include the cozy, well-curated interiors that feel both vintage and new. You’ll appreciate this owner’s collection of unique furnishings, which span cultures and eras, but mix and match impeccably well thanks to the neutral walls and lovely warm hardwood floors.
However, in this home’s search for balance between old and new, it misses a few opportunities for drama, like the light fixture in the dining room. I would really expect a lovely chandelier here., but the new owners could take this as an opportunity to customize.
In the kitchen, though, I wouldn’t change a thing, especially not that amazing O’Keefe & Merritt stove. Folks, that’s reason enough to buy this home. These stoves last for freaking ever, and they’re beautiful once restored, like this one. I also love the light stained oak cabinets and the tile backsplash and counters, which takes a little more effort to maintain, but it’s a beautiful foil to the understated cabinets. The other appliances could be swapped out, too.
The real gems of this house are the well-preserved baths, which both sport cool vintage tile. In the master you have a colorful mosaic on the floor, juxtaposed with the warm yellow on the walls and surrounding the shower. The dual-sink vanity is so cute, with a single mirror in the middle that is a perfect fit.
