About as blue blood as Fort Worth gets, 51 Westover Terrace offers a prestigious address and a beautiful Mediterranean style villa reminiscent of old Hollywood. Approached by a graceful brick paved drive, embedded in lush landscape canopied with mature trees, the 1935 vintage residence has been added on to by successive owners giving the home an eccentrically pleasing flow.

If you were expecting a traditional Mediterranean interior to match the exterior, you’re in for quite a surprise. The home has been decorated in high Hollywood Regency style recalling Billy Haines at his best. The living room with slick painted beams is a composition of black and white splashed with bold dashes of electric blue. If the daring design scheme of pattern on pattern and confident color looks too good to be random, it’s because it is the careful conception of master interior designer, and former Fort Worther, James McInroe. The living room fireplace is one of four. Notice how the blue of the living room curtains is echoed in the exterior awnings.

The 1935 build rambles over 6,800 square feet on two floors and contains four bedrooms, six baths, and two half baths. An additional bedroom is completely private, accessed only at the back-an ideal guest room or room for live-in staff.

Black and white rugs, and various hues of blue are a theme throughout. Above a second living area has a zebra patterned carpet. Warm, honey-colored cabinets and trim frame the rich, Della Robbia blue, upholstered walls.

Another room with a black and white skeleton-rug, trim and chairs and Murano chandelier is here, in the long dining room, energized by an outré chartreuse green. A glass topped table floats almost unseen in the center of the room.

The kitchen has it all-gas cooktop, double ovens, a built-in microwave, built-in refrigerator/freezer, and dual dishwashers. Countertops are of industrial steel and marble. The sink is a user-friendly deep farmhouse model.

Bedrooms are on the second floor with a master suite containing his and her baths and closets. The thrilling turquoise in the silk curtains is picked up in the bedside lamps and accessories. The bathrooms are extravagantly clad in slabs of Carrara marble.
