This Soft Contemporary Had Me Verifying It Was Actually in Prosper

Sometimes first impressions are dead wrong. When the team at Ebby Halliday Realtors sent us this listing for its sponsored home of the week, I would have bet my house that this soft contemporary was in a cove of similar 80s homes off Abrams in Lake Highlands. But this 2011-built beauty is located in the Estates of Greenspoint in Prosper, near Coit Road and US 380 in northern Collin County.

The Estates of Greenspoint is a quiet gated community nestled between trees, Prosper’s Town Lake, and a run off creek with open swales to preserve the rural character of the area. It is just minutes from the stunning new PGA Headquarters and shopping, dining and entertainment nearby.

The neighborhood has a beautiful variety of custom homes from owner-selected builders. This one and half-story, 5,350-square-foot home has five bedrooms and five baths set on just under half an acre.

Walk in to find low-maintenance polished concrete floors, high ceilings, and modern touches throughout. The dining room has a built-in wet bar with a wine fridge and sliding doors that open to the front xeroscaped courtyard.

Just past the dining room, the living room features a modern relief fireplace and wall art lighting. It flows easily into the large eat-in kitchen with two large islands that have seating on each side.

I particularly love the stained kitchen cabinets, which provide a gorgeous contrast with the trio of silver light pendants above the sink and compliments the stainless appliances with almost new built-in side-by-side fridge freezer and a separate ice maker. Just my two cents — if they’d been painted white like the cabinet color du jour, it’d feel positively sterile. Frosted glass display cabinets and a breakfast area complete the kitchen. Double doors in the kitchen lead to the oversized patio and backyard.

In the backyard, there’s a saltwater pool and spa that has an electric roll cover that can be safely walked on, plus an in-ground trampoline. The spacious 40-foot covered patio has a fireplace, built-in grill, beverage refrigerator, bar seating, and connections for a TV. There are speakers wired throughout the home, including in master bath, back and courtyard.

Back inside again, first-floor primary bedroom has modern built-in nightstands and a fun op-art wall covering. The spa bath has an oversized dual shower and standalone jetted tub, plus a unique center island dual-sided vanity with a hanging mirror. The custom closet connects to the large laundry room that includes a doggie door.

Downstairs there are three beds with 3.1 baths, a home office, and media room. Upstairs you’ll find two bedrooms with a shared bathroom, a game or second living room, and a home gym.
