Here’s proof that buyers are looking for more affordable homes to purchase. This week’s Inwood Home of the Week sponsored by Inwood National Bank is a listing by Bobbie Jo Glover of Compass that attracted a lot of attention both times it was on the market.
Now, typically when we write about a home, it’s active on the market. But we’ve long held the belief that writing about Dallas homes isn’t always about getting a house sold. It’s about highlighting great homes in a variety of price ranges and telling a story about it.
This far north Dallas home at 2320 Seedling Drive near Frankford and George Bush Turnpike is a darling 1982-built three-bedroom, two-bath home with 1,894 square feet priced at $255,000.
When it went on the market on Valentine’s Day, it racked up quite a few hearts online before it went under contract eight days later. As what sometimes happens, the home came back on the market in early March. But this time just seven days later, it went back under contract with multiple offers received and is now pending sale.
Why? At $135/square foot, this Dallas home located in Denton County has a lot going for it. Aside from being a great value, its located in what Glover aptly describes as “one of the most conveniently located neighborhoods on the North Dallas/Carrollton border.”
This spacious single-story, ranch-style home features vaulted ceilings, laminate wood flooring, and an oversized dining room. The galley kitchen has double ovens, stainless steel appliances and a bonus space that can be used for a study or breakfast nook. It’s already got the white painted cabinets everybody wants these days. And I’m no contractor, but if you wanted to open up the kitchen space I’m sure it’s possible, helping create a more open floorplan.
The master bedroom features tray ceilings, dual closets, dual vanity, and a new bath-shower. Now, I personally prefer carpet in the bedroom, but if you’re not a fan you can lay down laminate flooring or wood tiles in a long weekend.
There’s a huge secondary living room that can be used as a playroom or media room, whichever suits your needs. The backyard has plenty of room for a playground, fire pit, pool, or anything else you want to fit in this expansive yard.
There’s loads of potential in this almost 1,900-square-foot starter home. No wonder it flew off the market twice.
