Do you like Midcentury Modern architecture? Do you like cars? Do you like both of those things, and living in houses?

Well, we have a thing for you today.

See, as we’ve explained before, sometimes the Wednesday WTF is a macular nightmare, and sometimes it’s a cleverly done Midcentury Modern building that has been given a really cool new lease on life.

So without much further ado, we present this Midcentury Modern former auto dealership that could, according to the Realtor with the listing, be office space, a home, or both.

The 9,800-square-foot structure is in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and is priced at $840,000. And there is a lot that can be done with it, according to Victoria Hekkers.

“There is 6,500 SF of shop space on the main floor with a curved all-glass showroom, a vintage bar, a quaint office, three bathrooms, and two large storage rooms,” she said of the Midcentury property.

We’re assuming that this gentleman does not come with the property – but check with the Realtor anyway.

There are also three full bathrooms and a full kitchen, and plenty of space for either more offices or even bedrooms. There’s also a private outdoor deck on the second floor.

“This is a one-of-a-kind offering featured on HGTV’s Rezoned in 2006 showing what can be achieved by gutsy visionaries who found beauty in a run-down old Studebaker dealership and rezoned it into an imaginative, amazing hobby shop and home/office,” Hekkers said on her listing website.

So would you live in an updated car dealership? What similar buildings in DFW could you see repurposing for residential purposes – and still giving a nod to their history? Let us know in the comments!
