If you’ve been thinking about moving closer to downtown Dallas, but weren’t sure which downtown-adjacent neighborhood you wanted to live in, or whether you wanted to be smack-dab in downtown, we have some great options this week.
Every Thursday, we bring you our pick of the hottest North Texas properties in our Daltxrealestate.com Open Houses of the Week. These are the places you don’t want to miss that weekend. And this week, our homes are in Belmont West, the Cedars, and the Farmers Market areas.
This week, our homes range in price from $439,000 to $575,000. Which ones will you visit?
BRAND-NEW BELMONT WEST CUTIE
Open house: Dec. 8, 2-4 p.m.
When we asked Coldwell Banker Residential Realtor Alex Prins where he was hanging out this weekend, he pointed us to this new construction west of the Belmont Hotel at 1213 Walmsley Ave.
“This new build is like a dream!” he told us. “Floor the ceiling windows, tons of sunlight, hand-scraped hardwoods, 12-foot ceilings, and so much more!”
The 2,253 square foot home is minutes from downtown, Bishop Arts, Kessler Park, and Trinity Groves, which means that when you’re not embracing your inner introvert in that seriously gorgeous living room, you have plenty of options for entertainment and dining.
Hardwoods in the main level of the home take advantage of all those windows to really bounce around the light in the open floor plan first floor of the four-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath home.
“It makes me want to sing opera in that stunning living room,” Prins said. “It’s dreamy!”
Plush carpet upstairs means that the bedrooms and bonus room stay nice and toasty during the cooler days in Dallas.
Finishes include custom woodwork, floor-to-ceiling windows, Carrara marble, a spa shower in master, walk-in closets, stainless steel appliances, tile shower, large backyard, and board on board fence.
Prins said that the area, which is west of the Belmont, is growing, and the builder of the home knew a gorgeous home with custom features would be attractive to home buyers looking to get close to many of the amenities around downtown and beyond. “His homes are gorgeous — the attention to detail is amazing,” Prinz said.
The home is listed for $499,500.
SNAP UP THE VERY LAST TOWNHOME IN THE CEDARS’ HICKORY VISTA
Open house: Sunday, Dec. 9, 1-3 p.m.
You can easily grab a burger or wings at Lee Harveys, or walk to downtown or the Farmers Market from the Cedars’ Hickory Vista Townhomes, the brainchild of the Cedars Collection.
Courtney Michalek with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage-Lakewood told us about the last townhome in Hickory Vista — 1625 Hickory St. #105.
The home is one of seven newly constructed contemporary townhomes, and the urban aesthetic of the two bedroom, two-and-a-half bath home is perfect for someone looking for that chic nest to feather, but still desirous of being close to the action of downtown and even Deep Ellum.
And did we mention the views? We feel we must talk about them almost first, because they are definitely not an afterthought. The expansive, private rooftop with incredible views of the downtown skyline provides some great spaces for entertaining, or even just grabbing that glass of wine after a long day at work.
But inside is equally incredible, with 2,046 square feet of living space that features a first-floor workspace, large walk-in closets, an electric fireplace, quartz waterfall countertops and high-end Kitchenaid appliances.
The area is really going to transform before your eyes, too, with the Cedars Collection eventually encompassing 20 acres with townhomes, condos, and more.
“We have plans to build 150+ townhomes/condos, 400 apartments, live/work spaces, and future retail space,” Michalek said — keep your eyes peeled next week for more details about the plans for the area, including the broker open they’ll be holding at their newest project.
The home is listed for $439,000.
FARMERS MARKET TOWNHOME WITH ROOFTOP VIEWS
Open house: Sunday, Dec. 9, 2-4 p.m.
If you can close your eyes and imagine grabbing your shopping bags and heading to the Farmers Market before grabbing lunch at Mudhen, and think that sounds like the perfect Saturday, you should probably check out Dallas City Center Realtors agent Tony Nuncio’s listing at 2161 Marilla St.
Not only is it super convenient to a lot of really great downtown spots, but the three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath, four-level townhome also provides a lot of bang for the buck, from the incredible views from the two rooftop terraces to the community pool and park.
The 2,196 square-foot home is stylish and sophisticated, with attention paid to finishes and living spaces. Currently, the first-floor bedroom is being used as an additional living area, while the original area is open to the dining room and the generous kitchen, with its granite counters, plenty of cabinet space, step-in pantry, gas cooktop, and large island.
The master suite features a large walk-in closet, and a huge walk-in shower and separate jetted garden tub.
And if the beautiful living space wasn’t enough, the north terrace provides exquisite views of downtown, and the south terrace gives sweeping views of the southern, eastern, and western parts of the city.
The home is listed for $575,000.
