Tucked away in deep East Dallas is a smaller neighborhood called Eastwood Hills, south of the better-known Casa Linda and Forest Hills. The mature trees, shaded streets, and a creek winding through the area all add to the charmed atmosphere.

This is where our Thursday Three Hundred is located at 2930 Green Meadow Dr. It is newly listed and updated with just shy of 2,000 square feet, as well as three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two dining areas, two living areas, built in 1963. There’s an open house this Saturday, Jan. 6, from noon to 2 p.m. Want a sneak peek?

This house sits on a lot across the street from the elementary school, and is closest to Ferguson Road and Lakeland Drive. It’s a convenient location to East Dallas locations and Interstate 30, which makes getting around Dallas a snap.

Curb appeal abounds at this brick house with a mature tree, landscaping, new porch pillars, and a freshly painted front door. The chartreuse is a festive, if unusual, choice.

Inside, find original hardwood floors, a partially open floorplan, and lots of renovations that hit lots of items on buyer checklists. To the left of the entryway, there’s a large window and sitting area. Next to that, the formal dining area with a new contemporary chandelier.

In the living room, find a floor-to-ceiling wood-burning brick fireplace flanked by custom built-ins. The owners have opened up a window from the entryway looking into this area.

The kitchen is a huge update, a galley that has had its wall partially opened to look onto the living area. There are new light-colored countertops, ample counter space, new cabinets, recessed lights, and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range. The kitchen has an eat-in area, perfect for a breakfast table. Just off the kitchen is a utility room with space for a full-size washer and dryer.

Hardwoods extend into the three bedrooms — no carpet in sight. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom that’s stylish and of-the-moment, with a sliding barn door, oversized tile shower, modern vanity with dual sinks, dual closets, and updated lighting and fixtures. The second bathroom marries existing 1960’s vanity with deep charcoal walls and a contemporary mirror. Nice.

The good-sized backyard has a large shade tree, secured electric gate, and a patio, as well as a two-car garage.

This Eastwood home was listed Jan. 2 by Bryan Davis with Keller Williams Central for $315,000.
