Do you know how difficult it is to write headlines with a city whose name begins with the article The? The answer is very as I came to learn more than a decade ago when I was community newspaper editor for The Colony. But despite the clunky headlines I may have written, the stories I came to tell about The Colony are among my favorite because they recorded the small town personality of this Denton County city with all the nearby amenities of the big city. For this week’s Suburb Sunday, I’ve found three great houses in The Colony ranging from $235,ooo to $659,000 that’d make any homeowner happy no matter the price range.

Lakeside Living in The Tribute

Malone3

Address: 8109 Castlebridge Drive, The Colony

  • 3 bedrooms ,3.5 baths
  • 3,200 square feet
  • $659,000

Travis Hitt of Rogers Healy and Associates has a great listing in The Colony’s lakeside The Tribute community, just steps from Lake Lewisville. This 2017-built home has upgraded features such as a covered patio with built-in kitchen overlooking the massive backyard, a second covered patio with fireplace, and commercial grade appliances in the kitchen. Plus, enjoy the neighborhood amenities that include a fitness center, lakeside fire pits, sports area, and lakeside infinity pool.

Huge Executive Home Has a Perfect Master Suite

Malone3

Address: 5537 Glenview Lane, The Colony

  • 5 bedrooms, 2.5 baths
  • 3,766 square feet
  • $390,000

Terry Hendricks of RE/Max DFW Associates is showing this enormous five-bedroom home next Saturday, July 27 from 12 to 2 p.m. in east The Colony (see, it’s hard to write!!), but first take a peek here. Wood floors flow throughout much of the first floor in this open floorplan home with chef’s kitchen that opens to the living area. There’s one bedroom downstairs, and four bedrooms upstairs, including the master that has a huge step-up sitting area and side computer room. Very smart.

Starter Home With All the Updates

  • 1,596 square feet
  • $235,000

Toby Ross of Jones-Papadopoulos and Company is showing this beautiful move-in ready home today, July 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. Could be a perfect starter home for a couple who isn’t quite ready to tackle the updating themselves. This 1986-built home has new wood flooring and new paint throughout. The kitchen features granite countertops, stainless steel appliances including built-in microwave, oven, and dishwasher, and eat-in bar area. The ensuite master has dual sinks and granite countertops. This home has a partial garage conversion that features a fourth bedroom and convenient mudroom with plenty of extra storage. Plus, there’s a large patio with pergola and room to play or entertain.
