We love hearing from our readers, and nothing makes us happier than emails from folks who are moving to Dallas who tell us what a valuable resource daltxrealestate.com is for their home search. We’ve heard such wonderful stories from buyers and sellers and folks who are relocating about how this here little website helped them navigate the real estate landscape of North Texas.

So we were just beaming when Brian Feitcher, VP of National Sales at Fusion Logistics, sent us this note:

“Just wanted to send a quick note to let you know how much I love your site!  I am in the process of moving to Dallas from Philadelphia and have been checking your site multiple times a day for the past few months.  Love the new layout and the multiple daily updates.

Just bought a home in Briarwood and we’re excited to move down to the big D!”

Of course, we had to ask Brian to tell us his real estate story, and he was kind enough to share! Jump to find out more about Brian’s home search and his big move to Dallas:

Why are you moving? Relocating to Dallas from Philadelphia for work. Fusion Logistics‘ corporate office is in Dallas.

Why did you choose your builder? Didn’t directly choose the builder, but rather the house. Loved the feel of the home the second we walked it. Really paid attention to every detail, and the finishes were well done.

Why did you choose your neighborhood? A lot of young families, quiet streets, close to restaurants, shops, tollway, work, Love Field and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Also close to some of Dallas’ finest private schools.

What shocked you about the sales process? How competitive the market is in Dallas. Houses would hit MLS and then sell by the time I could call my agent! Also surprised at the number of new construction projects going on in Briarwood and Devonshire, seems like a rapidly growing area.

What pleased you? The quality of the homes in these areas. Dallas is still relatively affordable when you compare the price per square foot you pay here versus other major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Miami, etc. Some apartments in Manhattan go for $3,000 a square foot, so all things considered, the price points aren’t that high in Dallas.

Are you new to Dallas, and if so, what aspects of your move will be a big adjustment for you and your family? Yes. I’ve been traveling to Dallas for 10 years, but it will be an adjustment for the family. We’re excited though to live in a thriving city with great amenities. Dallas is an extremely livable big city. The summers might be a little warmer than we’re used to!

If you had to do it all over again, what would you do differently? Nothing. I knew going in that it was going to be a competitive market and we gave ourselves plenty of time to face any curve balls that came our way. Excited to close in June!
