Remember our first Staff Meeting? Well, it’s a “thing” now. This quarter, on June 17th, we’re toodling over to Victory Plaza to celebrate this high-rise stunner at the W before it finds a new owner. Want to attend? Email [email protected].

At the W, the Skyline is your Oyster

This home is made stunning not only because of the home, but the homeowner’s stunning offer to “repurchase the home in six-months should the new owner be unhappy” (minus some rent, natch). Now that’s confidence you don’t often see in real estate! But seeing this home, I can understand why.

Unit 2508 is a luxurious 2-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home sprawling over 2,570 square feet including nearly 400 square feet of terrace. The home is being sold by its first owner for $1.25-million. The seller has nothing but wonderful things to say about the home and the W Residences, “If you live at the W, you’ll never want to live anywhere else.” So wonderful has the W experience been that he’s upsizing his family to a 3-bedroom unit just an elevator ride away.

How Big? Piano Big!

The intangibles of a building are important too. The seller (and future-owner’s neighbor) speaks of a very friendly and sociable building. Neighbors are more apt to develop friendships than some buildings with more aloof populaces.

Before moving into the unit, this original owner moved a wall to increase the size of the living room for more entertaining space. He also added centralized speakers and lowered the kitchen “breakfast bar” a pinch to make it more convivial than perch – again, nods towards an open entertainment space.

After moving in and getting a feel for the space, curtains were added to darken the bedrooms against the sunrise (I hear ya!). The owner also turned a rather bland support column into a glitzy silver tiled focal point. Perhaps anticipating the arrival of the Candy’sDirt staff, a wine cooler was added.

In the master closet, the four additional shoe racks were added, because … well … SHOES!

The home is configured so that the first thing you see upon entering are the floor-to-ceiling views. And it’s the views that will make you especially popular on the 4th of July with dazzling fireworks lighting up the view of Fair Park in the south and a multitude of other displays in the distance. Even on non-fireworks days, the views to the north skate the top of the Cirque building into the green belts of our original neighborhoods and parks. And don’t forget the parades.

The City Awaits Inside and Outside your Door

This is also the rare apartment that sees both sunrise and sunset, perfect for morning coffee and post-work cocktail on the expansive patio, all set against the theater of the cityscape. If you loved the deceased Ghost Bar, now you can own the views, if not the white go-go boot wearing staff.

The amenities list at the W is looooong, the requisite pool is the least of it. There’s every amenity provided by the W Hotel – spa, valet parking and an actual concierge (versus the misnamed porters found in other buildings.

But the best feature has to be in-room dining. Imagine, coming home from a long, bad day only to face a fridge containing a wizened lemon and half a jar of grape jelly. At the W, a quick phone call and a doorbell ring later and you’re noshing in style – W style.

Her namesake brokerage has a mix of agents with diverse talents from the legal, finance, architecture, design and marketing worlds. If a fleeing Russian oligarch needs a crash pad, members of Minnette’s team speak Russian (in addition to Spanish). Minnette and her staff specialize in the Park Cities, Preston Hollow, Turtle Creek/Uptown, Lakewood, Greenway Parks, Bluffview and Devonshire areas.

Recently she’s affiliated with Coldwell Banker to tap into their global resources while still keeping her local roots. “My team already has the excellent contacts, industry expertise and customer service that are so important in luxury real estate. Coldwell Banker’s resources enable us to take our business to the next level to serve our customers,” said Murray.

Candy and the gang promise not to be too awestruck by the views inside and out to share. Stay tuned for the post-party pics!

Remember: Do you have an HOA story to tell? A little high-rise history? Realtors, want to feature a listing in need of renovation or one that’s complete with flying colors? How about hosting a Candy’s Dirt Staff Meeting? Shoot Jon an email. Marriage proposals accepted (as soon as they’re legal in Texas)! [email protected]
