An excellent academic program and exceptional opportunities for students make Frisco ISD highly sought after for families relocating to Texas or moving within DFW.

The district has grown 7 to 30 percent annually since the early 1990s, and today serves more than 58,000 students in 68 schools. They project that number to be 67,528 in 2022.

For this week’s Splurge vs Steal, we’re looking at two houses in Frisco ISD. Which one is your favorite?

In the gated Shaddock Creek Estates, we’ve found a lovely custom home at 4214 Roaring Fork Ln. The resort-style backyard offers a diving pool, attached spa, fireplace, and outdoor kitchen with mature landscaping, covered patio, and privacy fence. This home has five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, one half bath, three living areas, two dining areas, an office, and 5,299 square feet on two stories, built in 2011. It is in the attendance zone for Carroll Elementary School (9 out of 10), Griffin Middle School (10 out of 10), and Wakeland High School (9 out of 10).

The floorplan flows effortlessly, from the dramatic entryway with grand staircase and handsome executive study to an elegant formal dining space and spacious master with fireplace and recessed ceiling. The high-end kitchen has stainless steel Electrolux appliances, including a commercial-grade range, built-in refrigerator/freezer, double ovens, and warmer drawer. The spacious bedrooms all have ensuite bathrooms and throughout the house you’ll find well-planned details like a barn door, ice maker, storage galore, decorator light fixtures, hardwood floors, plantation shutters, upgraded carpet.

This Frisco ISD home was listed July 26 by Aimee Hendrix with Ebby Halliday — Prosper/Celina for $969,500.

In Panther Creek Estates on a corner lot, the house at 11321 Glen Rose Dr. has lots of nice upgrades, from hardwood floors and wainscoting to vaulted ceilings and a game room. This home has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, two living areas, two dining areas, an office, and 2,879 square feet on two stories built in 2010.

Just off the double-height entryway is a formal living room, formal dining room with butler’s pantry, and home office that is being used as an exercise room and could be a fifth bedroom. A second living area is anchored by a stone fireplace. In the kitchen, there is a central island, breakfast bar, granite countertops, and stainless steal appliances, including a gas cooktop. A downstairs master bedroom offers a sitting area, tray ceiling, and ensuite bathroom. Upstairs are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a game room. In back, find a small patio, lots of grassy green space, and a privacy fence. This home is in the attendance zone for Sem Elementary School (9 out of 10), Maus Middle School (9 out of 10), and Heritage High School (9 out of 10).

This Frisco ISD home was listed July 26 by Tonya Peek with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage — Frisco for $369,000.
