Most of the time we try to use this space to give helpful info and tips for homeowners, home buyers, and real estate professionals from our perspective in the field as home inspectors. But … it’s really hot. It’s almost the Fourth of July weekend. We’re all a little .. .ready for a long weekend. So we thought we’d just do funny stuff this week.

So here are some LOLs to help get you past the hump and on to your long weekend.

Trick Door

Behind every door is … a wall. Actually, that reminds me of a funny home inspector joke.

“If every time one door closes another one opens, you got foundation problems.”

But I digress. This happened in a flip house. There’s a fully formed room behind that particle board wall. Maybe it’s supposed to be an escape room — trendy!

Behind every closed door is a wall – said no one ever. That was a surprise. #askahomeinspector #realestatehumor #lol #homeinspectionfinds #dfw

Shingle Sham

This video is both funny AND educational. You wouldn’t believe someone would deliberately paint their roof shingles to make someone think they had a new roof, would you? We’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they did it for aesthetic appeal. Nevertheless, without a closer look, an unsuspecting buyer might have thought, “What a lovely new-looking black roof!” Also, falling is funny.

Dishwasher Surprise

Dishwashers, as a rule, are not all that surprising. I mean, they break a lot, but that’s not surprising. But this dishwasher? This dishwasher is surprising. Trust me. The Inspector was surprised.

Their china must be REALLY nice. #homeinspectionfinds #hiddensafe #askahomeinspector #dallashomeinspector #realestatehumor

Steel Reserve

The comments from the peanut gallery (a gaggle of home inspectors) were, “That stuff’ll kill you,” and “Guess the cat needed something to wash it down.”

Sorry. Ew. But LOL.

(Wait, what is a group of home inspectors called? You know, like a “murder of crows”? Put your idea in the comments!)

We hope we’ve given you some giggles to get you through the rest of the week and into a nice long weekend. Have a safe and Happy Fourth of July from all of us at Green Scene Home Inspections!
