It is Halloween week, my people. Yea! What a fun week awaits with costumes, pranks, and scary movies. Being a part of Gen X, I can honestly say we grew up with some of the greatest scary movies.
One of the all-time best was A Nightmare on Elm Street. Good ol’ Freddy Krueger terrorizing innocent teens in their sleep. When Freddy was alive he allegedly killed some kids. So the parents of the teens now being terrorized got revenge by burning Freddy alive and on and on it goes.
A fun movie fact is that while the story was set in Springwood, Ohio, 1428 Elm Street is actually located in the historic Southern California neighborhood known as Spaulding Square. Imagine how much more chill Freddy would have been if the story had actually been set in SoCal as opposed to Ohio.
If you want to chill like Freddy, you have the opportunity to purchase the home that was the actual façade to the nightmare on Elm Street house. The home located at 1428 North Genessee, Los Angeles, California went on the market last week for a cool $3.25 million.
The Dutch Colonial house is an absolute stunner. It has three bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms and is 2,700 square feet. With the exception of the front door being painted black, the house is still easily recognizable as that of Nancy Thompson, the only teen to survive Freddy’s wrath.
In the true spirit of the season, the listing agents have asked that all bids be submitted by midnight Halloween. To incentivize true horror movie fans, they even got a special guest to help sell the house.

There is also an abundance of natural light throughout the house.
After a long day at work, a nice soak in the tub would be welcoming.
You can practically see all of Freddy’s murderous intentions just leaving his body because he is so relaxed.
The best part of the house, however, is the backyard. Along with the prerequisite pool there is also a guest house for any overnight visitors.
Being the consummate guest, is there any doubt that Freddy will skim the pool before retiring for the evening?
