The Statler Hotel is one of Dallas’ most iconic buildings and one of the most successful preservation stories we’ve documented over the years. The Statler Residences are also one of the best places to live in this city.
Surprised? Don’t be. The idea of hotel living has appealed to most of us since we read “Eloise at the Plaza.” Seriously, what could be better than living in a hotel?
It turns out, nothing!
Daltxrealestate.com writer and photographer Mimi Perez and I recently took an afternoon to tour the Statler Hotel and Residences. To say we were impressed is an understatement.
“I love the old-school architecture, the historic building, and the ‘Mad Men’ feel but with modern-day amenities,” Mimi said. With the park across the street, the Majestic theater two blocks away, and a DART hub four blocks away, you can’t ask for a better location or more VIP resident perks.”
High-Rise Living That is Perfect For Everyone
Indeed, I cannot imagine a more ideal residence for anyone ready for high-rise living. If you have just moved to Dallas, The Statler Hotel and Residences will envelop you in a warm and inviting community in the heart of the city, complete with resident-only events. If you are downsizing, your life will become immensely easier and more enjoyable because not only do you have all of the advantages of hotel living, you never have to leave the premises to have a great time.
Forget The Plaza: Eloise Would Have Been Much Happier at The Statler Residences
Start your day with breakfast at Overeasy, catch some rays at Waterproof, the rooftop pool, grab a haircut at Pegasus Barbers, then head down to lunch and games at the 4,000-square-foot gaming hall and gastropub, Scout.
Next, it’s time for a workout at the fully equipped fitness center and a quick change for cocktails at Bourbon and Banter, then dinner at Primo’s MX Kitchen, or Sfereco. If you don’t want to venture out one evening, remember you can order room service. You can even get married here, in the Grand Ballroom, when there’s not a visiting musical guest performing!
The Statler Residences are also the place to live if you’ve just graduated from college or grad school. I can say, with absolute authority, that living at The Statler Hotel and Residences is much more reasonable than what you’ll pay for an apartment in Boston and so much nicer.
Don’t be fooled that this is an adults-only environment. Remember, many children in New York, Boston, and Chicago grow up downtown in high-rise condos and apartments. Having a park with kid amenities across the street is a huge draw for young families.
And as Mimi noted, “It’s just a cool place to live!”
