Tuesday Two Hundred: Lake Highlands North Home Is Updated, Move-in Ready

10239-Vistadale-AEditor’s note: An earlier version of this story quoted the LBJ Express website, which said there were sound walls installed in this area to reduce highway noise. That is incorrect. We regret the error.

We know that living “inside the loop” (635, of course) is imperative for some folks. Today’s Tuesday Two Hundred is a Lake Highlands North home that just makes the cut at 10239 Vistadale Dr.

This mid-1960s cutie is recently updated, with three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and 1,872 square feet. It’s located just inside the loop; the backyard faces toward the highway. While the noise level might be a concern, this house has a lot of space and amenities to offer inside. 10239-Vistadale-ARecent renovations opened up the kitchen and created a great sense of flow through the kitchen, breakfast area, and back living/family room. Bathrooms are also updated, and the mature trees and new landscaping give it wonderful curb appeal.

This house is in the Wallace Elementary attendance zone, rated “7” out of 10 by GreatSchools.org (it’s zoned for Richardson ISD schools).

It was listed Friday by Ross Spencer with Gilchrist & Company Real Estate for $289,000.

The carpeting here and in the bedrooms is new, and there is fresh paint in a neutral palette throughout the house.

You get a first glimpse of the lovely hardwood floors in the entryway—those are in the main family room, breakfast area, and kitchen.

The second living room/family room is a good-sized space, with a painted brick fireplace and mantel, recessed lighting, and lots of natural lights from large glass doors that lead to the patio and backyard. Because this is a pie-shaped lot, the backyard is oversized.  10239-Vistadale-H10239-Vistadale-H10239-Vistadale-M10239-Vistadale-N10239-Vistadale-AOpening up the kitchen makes a huge difference in this house. Typical 1960’s kitchen are galley-style and feel cramped. Nothing like that here. Renovations added granite counters, stainless steel appliances, new fixtures and hardware, refaced cabinets, and a tile backsplash. 10239-Vistadale-P 10239-Vistadale-A 10239-Vistadale-R 10239-Vistadale-S 10239-Vistadale-T 10239-Vistadale-U 10239-Vistadale-VThe master bedroom measures 16-by-11 and has a walk-in closet, linen closet, and a bathroom. Both bathrooms have been updated with new counters, fixtures, a new mirror in one, fresh paint, and hardware. 10239-Vistadale-W 10239-Vistadale-XThe big backyard is appealing with mature shade trees, landscaping, and a patio area.

This house is priced at $154 per square foot. Nine recent comps in the area range from $122 to $198 per square foot. The prices range from $210,000 to $336,500 (this house is listed for $289,000). So this property sits pretty much in the middle of the range.

The main concern I can see would be the noise from LBJ, but that may not be a big issue for some buyers, especially with a large backyard between the fence and the house. Leave us a comment with your thoughts about this Lake Highlands North home.
