It was pointed out to me last week that our Friday feature highlighting what you can get in the $400,000 to $500,000 range doesn’t branch out much past the Dallas County line. See, I’ve been operating under the assumption that there aren’t many interesting homes in this bracket to the north and west. But then I caught wind of the Ridglea neighborhood of Fort Worth thanks to our Tarrant County Tuesday columnist Seth Fowler.

And it is a treasure trove of cute cottages that have been tastefully remodeled (think: University Terrace or Ridgewood in Dallas). There are quite a few cute homes on the market in the neighborhood, but I fell fast for 6366 Greenway Road. Bonus: The Christmas lights are already up, so you can go see what this cutie looks like during the holidays!

Keller Williams Realtor Ruth Story has this three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom traditional cottage built in 1947 on the market for $525,000. With 2,704 square feet, a classic floor plan featuring two living areas, two dining areas, a spacious scullery, and a tranquil sunroom, there’s plenty of room for a family. Plantation shutters ensure privacy in the front areas of the home, and the backyard is surrounded by an 8-foot privacy fence. Despite the proximity to Bowie Boulevard, its absolutely sublime!

Beautiful granite countertops cap classic original cabinetry (hey, if it ain’t broke …) fitted with contemporary hardware. A natural stone backsplash, copious drawer space, and updated appliances including a gas range all make for a practical, beautiful kitchen.

Just beyond the kitchen is the breakfast area and den. We love the bay window, the stone fireplace, and the beautiful doors. It’s here that you really notice the upgraded Pella doors and windows.

And while the rest of the house is great, you’re definitely going to love this master suite. A spacious and sunny master bedroom with windows that offer views of the lush backyard, plus a luxurious five-piece bathroom makes for a great retreat. I love the hardwood floors in the bedroom and the beautifully rich shaker-style cabinetry in the bathroom. A large soaking tub is paired with a beautiful shower with frameless glass and bold stone. The contemporary chandelier over the tub goes well with the cabinet hardware and transitional fixtures.

Naturally, we love that screened porch with privacy curtains. It is just beautiful! Imagine putting a dining table out here to host gatherings without having to worry about bugs! And then there’s the backyard, with a tasteful shade garden and expansive lawn. You get quite a lot for your money in Ridglea, and we couldn’t be more impressed with this adorable Fort Worth neighborhood!
